No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls
These no bake chocolate peanut butter balls take about four minutes. No joke. And they taste like cookies. Now, I won’t lie, they aren’t FAR from cookies but there is no sugar, no flour, no butter. So… not bad!
No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls Ingredients:
- Peanut butter
- Chocolate chips
That’s IT. Just 5 ingredients.
And no cooking. No oven. No stove. The short version of the instructions is mix all that stuff together in a combination that ends up sticky. Sqeeze into balls. Then eat it. Beautiful.

If you have an extra minute, toss half of the oats and most of the chocolate chips in a blender, food processor or in my case, my Ninja. We’re talking two seconds, 2-3 pulses. Some of it will be powder already, some will still be in pieces, and a few pieces will still be basically whole. That’s perfect.
This recipe will still work, even if you don’t do that. But I won’t lie, you’ll end up with a nicer consistency if you do a little blending first.
Dump that into the bowl. Add the rest of the oats and chocolate chips, a touch of honey, vanilla and peanut butter. Now, you can’t really MIX this. So just sort of mush it around until it comes together. Tip: Mush with two spoons or forks instead of one.
Pop the no bake chocolate peanut butter balls mix in the fridge for 20 minutes or more. Wanna come back in a few hours? Totally fine. No rush. (And yes, I realize I didn’t count this in my time count. But you’re not doing anything AND you’re not on a timer, so it doesn’t count.)
Then form into balls. IMPORTANT: Notice I said “form” not roll. Rolling did not work for me. It was annoying and frustrating. I actually got really irritated the first time and almost gave up. (Yeah… when I’m going for an EASY recipe, it doesn’t take much for me to scrap it!)
Suddenly, perhaps in my anger, I just squeezed it, and it came together perfectly. I scooped up about 1-1.5 tablespoons, squeezed it in my hand, turned and squeezed it the opposite way. Done. Are they perfectly round balls? Nope. But they’re actually pretty close!
These little guys are yummy! They taste like cookies. I’ve tried them without the chocolate (or with less) and they’re actually still VERY good. Basically they taste like peanut butter oatmeal cookies. But, of the six batches I did, this was my favorite. Husband loved them. Both teens and toddlers alike gobbled them up. So I figured that made a clear winner.
And hey… just use a dark chocolate for the antioxidants!!! There… now it’s healthy again.
Quick reference no bake chocolate peanut butter balls recipe:
- 1 ½ cup Old Fashioned Rolled Oats
- ¾ cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup peanut butter
- TBS teaspoons honey
- Teaspoon vanilla
- Place half of the oats and half of the chocolate chips in a blender. Pulse 2-3 times.
- Add the rest of the oats, the rest of the chocolate, the honey, vanilla and peanut butter (aka, add everything else)
- Mix (mush!)
- Refrigerate for 20 minutes (or more, no rush!)
- Squeeze into balls (don’t rolls!)
- Store in fridge (on a plate or in a plastic bag)
The measurements given above are pretty flexible. And more peanut butter if they aren’t coming together, blend more for a smoother texture, blend less for a chunkier finished product.
And variation on the ingredient list is amazing!
- Try raisins instead of chocolate, or instead of half the chocolate (don’t blend raisins)
- Cut the chocolate in half and use toasted coconut (this was a second favorite)
- Trade some of the peanut butter for Nutella or various Justin’s nut butters.
- Add chopped nuts
