I recently discovered NewAir USA, a manufacturer of home comfort appliances including portable air conditioners, space heaters, ice makers and beverage coolers among other things. What caught my interest though was their homemade ice cream maker. I love homemade fresh ice cream and I love that this homemade ice cream maker is fast and easy to use.
NewAir AIC-220 Homemade Ice Cream Maker Review:
This ice cream maker is available in white and black or stainless steel and black and I happen to think it is a very nice looking appliance. The NewAir AIC-220 homemade ice cream maker does NOT require that you have a frozen bowl ready when you want to make your ice cream. It has a built-in compressor that freezes as it churns. Pretty fancy, right?
I have had an ice cream maker before that I liked but I hated that I had to freeze the bowl before I could make the ice cream which either meant planning quite a bit ahead or taking up space in my freezer all the time.
This homemade ice cream maker has a commercial quality motor and for professional results and let me tell you, I like what it turns out! The NewAir AIC 220 Ice Cream Maker actually makes more than ice cream- you can also make gelato, frozen yogurt, sorbet, and frozen drinks. I love it. It is super easy to use. It comes with a recipe booklet and you can use your own recipes too if you prefer. You just add the ingredients to the 1.5 qt bowl and set the timer on the LCD display screen. It takes between 20-60 minutes for most recipes. There is a clear plastic cover you can peek through to check on your frozen concoction.
For our first recipe, we whipped up a batch of super easy, super yummy vanilla ice cream. I love the soft serve aspect of it. You just can’t buy ice cream or frozen yogurt that is as smooth and creamy as it is fresh out the machine. My daughter loved helping me make it and our ice cream was ready in just 40 minutes. We poured it in the maker when we sat down to eat so it was ready just when we were.
For Oscars night, I whipped up a batch of fresh, homemade strawberry daiquiris in the New Air 220 Ice Cream Maker. They were so good. I really enjoyed that there were no ice chips in them like their always are when I do them blended. Just nice and smoothly frozen. I topped them with a little fresh vanilla ice cream. (Actually, I’ve been topping a lot of stuff with it- it’s just so yummy!)
It couldn’t be easier to whip up delicious and smooth homemade frozen treats. From healthy smoothies and smooth frozen yogurt to indulgent rich ice cream- this ice cream maker does it all. Kahlua ice cream in a jiffy or a grape slushie for your kids after school. You will love this machine (that is, if you love eating delicious frozen concoctions!)
