Newman’s Own Organics- Food Review and Giveaway

You have all heard of Newman’s Own Organics, right?  Established by Paul Newman and his daughter, Newman’s Own Organics motto is “Great tasting food that happens to be organic.” Through the sale of its products, Newman’s Own Organics generates money for The Newman’s Own Foundation to donate to a wide range of charitable organizations.

I have to tell you are I was already familiar with Newman’s Own Organics but I contacted them to see if I could line up a food giveaway for my readers and they very generously agreed.

One of my fondest memories of Newman’s Own Organics will always be of their Alphabet cookies.  My daughter learned her ABCs just from reading books with me but my son was taking a little longer so I spotted the Newman’s Own Organics Alphabet Cookies and he learned his letters by the time we were done with the first bag!  I told him he could have the cookie if he could tell me what letter it was.  If he didn’t get it right I told him the right name and had him repeat it while he looked at it.  Then I put it back in the bag and pulled out another one to give him another chance.  He loved these cookies and he learned the letters very quickly.

Newman’s Own Organics also makes organic dried fruit and I already knew that their dried prunes are delicious.  Even my grandmother and son love them.  I also got to try their dried apple rings which are very yummy.  I packed them in bag with some pecans and my kids loved having them for a snack at the zoo.  The dried fruit line is 100% organic and contains no sulfites. “We are proud to partner with U.S. Certified Organic Farmers and Processors whose commitment to organic practices makes these wonderful dried fruits available to you. Purchasing our organic products supports their efforts,” states Nell Newman, Co-founder and President of Newman’s Own Organics.

Another new thing we tried was Newman’s Own Organics Soy Crisps.  Because they are made with soy, they are higher in protein than most snacks and really great especially for kids.  My kids loved the cinnamon sugar soy crisps.  I like the barbeque soy crisps. These Organic Soy Crisps made with organic soy and organic rice and are gluten free. The Crisps come in four varieties and have between 7 and 9 grams of protein depending on the variety.

Last but not least I tried what is now my all time favorite store bought cookie- Newman O’s Hint’O Mint.  These bad boys are like combining two favorite cookies and having them be organic.  So delicious- crunchy, cremey, and not too minty.  Yum-O!  Plus, I can feel good knowing that they have No Partially Hydrogenated Oils and No Trans-Fatty Acids.

There are so many great yummy foods in the Newman’s Own Organics line up and I am trying not to go on for too long but I just have to mention quickly that Newman’s Own Organics also has organic pet food and organic pet treats too!  Their pet food is made with natural meat, organic barley flour, organic carrots and organic apples and contains no wheat, corn or soy products.

Newman’s Own Organics had generously agreed to let one reader choose one Newman’s Own Organic product from four different categories for a total of 4 Newman’s Own Organics products. (excludes coffee)
