It is back-to-school season and that means there is a lot on everyone’s mind! Getting used to new schedules, expectations, and work loads takes some time. Today, I want to share with you an awesome iphone app that can help you find lost items which is a huge help when you are trying to walk out the door in the mornings! This post is brought to you by Pixie, the makers of an item tracker (Pixie Points) that use your iPhone and augmented reality to actually show you the location of missing objects.
A Back To School App That Will Help You Keep Track Of Your Things: Pixie Finder App
As the new school year gets underway, I know Pixie Points can come in handy to help parents find their keys and help kids locate their school supplies so everyone can make it out the door on time. The Pixie App is a great way to help reduce the anxiety that comes from lost items and looking frantically for them!
What Is Pixie?
Pixie App and Pixie Points (locator chips) work together to show you how to find your lost items. You can download the Pixie iphone app for free in the app store. You can buy Pixie Points at getpixie.com or amazon.com (my amazon affiliate link). You then place one Pixie Point on your iphone and the other Pixie Points on things you want to be able to locate like your keys, purse, or wallet. Your kids can place the Pixie Point on school items to help them be ready to go like their backpack, lunchbox, school instrument, ipad, phone, or laptop. Each Pixie account can keep track of up to 7 items through the Pixie Points which can be applied using included adhesive stickers or hooked on to key chains, backpack zippers, or even the cat’s collar. You can pixify just about anything!
How Does Pixie Finder Work?
Pixie is a 2-in-1 Finder (the only one actually) that uses both visual and audio location methods to show you how to your lost items such as keys, wallet, remotes, etc. Once you have applied your Pixie Points to your things, you can use the app to find them. The Pixie App shows you exactly where all your things are relative to you.
Pixie Will Show You How To Find Lost Items
Once you select which item you want to locate, the Pixie App guides you with accurate turn-by-turn directions so you can find your items. It then helps you by showing pixie dust over the area where the item is located or working as a metal detector to bing bing bing faster the closer you get.
After I got our Pixie Points applied to the things we want to be able to find in a hurry on our way out to school (ipad, clarinet, and keys) I tested out the Pixie Finder system. My daughter hid my keys while I waited outside. When I came back in the house I realized they could be anywhere, kind of like that feeling you get when you have looked in all the normal places and you still can’t find your item. So I opened the Pixie app and it lists the items and how far they are from you. I then clicked on keys. It had me do a circular scan and then told by which way to go until I came into my daughter’s room.
She had hidden my keys under her bed under some sheets so it went into metal detector mode where it did the noise and showed me by inch how far I was away. It was actually really quick and easy.
I tried it again but this time I had her put them in a more realistic spot. I followed the app directions right back to the dining room table where they were sitting admist the clutter but marked by the pixie dust on my iPhone screen.
Back To School Pixie Discount
Just in time for the back to school season, there is currently a 40% off discount available on getpixie.com. Additionally, the Pixie iPhone case is on sale for just $1.99 and I completely recommend it.
When a pencil case, bag or laptop is nowhere to be found, you simply need to open your Pixie app, scan the room with your iPhone and be led through Pixie’s technology to the exact location of the item. Pixie even sees through walls, pillows and drawers so you don’t have to worry about listening for a muffled beep. You can see Pixie in action in the video below:
I think you’ll find Pixie to be an invaluable back to school app that will save you the stress of looking for missing items when you’re trying to head out the door for school. Which lost items would you use the Pixie App to help you find?
That reminds me… I wish I had the Pixie app when my daughter was a toddler and she lost my keys in my yard. They didn’t show up for over a month!
