Ice cream is irresistible year round, in my opinion, but even more so as the weather starts to heat up. Ice cream has long been a favorite treat and I have many childhood memories linked to ice cream with mom. My mom was a single parent and ice cream out was a fun way that she and I celebrated special events. This post is sponsored by Cold Stone Creamery. All opinions expressed are my own.
#MyIceCreamMemories- Ice Cream With Mom
I have had a sweet tooth since I can remember and as a kid, I was always saving change wether it was coins I found in the sofa or coins I earned by doing my chores. Then as soon as I had enough change saved up, I wanted my mom to take me out for an ice cream cone. We ate ice cream at home too but there was something special about getting to eat it out and stand in front of all those flavors and mix ins and just be overwhelmed with choice. I loved it.
I have passed those ice cream memories on to my own children too. Eating ice cream out is the way we celebrate all As on a report card, a basketball score, a chess tournament, or a music recital. There is just something so fun about each person getting to select a special combination of ice cream and mix ins that reflects that particular mood and is personalized just for them.

Mother’s Day is coming up, May 8th, and the Strawberry Splendor™ Cold Stone custom flavor cake is a great treat to help you celebrate with mom. Cold Stone gave me a gift card so I could try something tasty and I said, Happy Mother’s Day to me early with this delicious ice cream cake. I mean, I couldn’t wait and the kids and husband didn’t mind helping me celebrate early since they got to have some too!
It was really, really good. Each cake is handcrafted in the store with the freshest ingredients. The Strawberry Splendor features layers of moist Yellow Cake and Sweet Cream Ice Cream with Strawberry Puree wrapped in fluffy White Frosting and cascading Strawberry Glaze. I really loved it. I have a friend who has a tradition of having ice cream for pretty much everything. Something awesome happened? Ice cream! Something awful happened? Ice cream! Hey, at least you get ice cream and some time together. When she got breast cancer, and we asked what we could do for her, she told us to go get ice cream. 😉

My Mom and I making home-made ice cream, when I was a child. We had a wooden ice cream maker and you had to turn the crank, for what seemed like forever. Then we would top it with home grown strawberries! Yum , wonderful
