Imagine how useful it would be to be able to change your background while making youtube videos or while video conferencing. This way, you wouldn’t have to worry about clutter in the background. You could be anywhere while you’re video conferencing with clients, or friends and family. Yup, that’s all possible with RealSense Technology!

HP Envy 15 with RealSense Technology Allows for Background Editing In Videos
Lately, I have been doing some interviews over Skype and I always have to worry about the background. I have to make sure I am in a good spot and get all the clutter under control before the Skype video conference call. Not anymore! I just found out about an awesome app I can use on my HP Envy 15 with RealSense called Personify that lets you change your background in videos. It uses state-of-the-art computer vision techniques and depth sensing cameras to extract the user from any background in real time basically working like your very own real time green screen. No video post-processing- it changes your background in videos live. You simply need a standalone 3D camera or a laptop with an embedded Intel RealSense 3D camera (which is exactly what my HP Envy 15 came with) and the Personify app.
Green Screen Effect
When you first sign into the Personify application, you have your choice of three main actions you can take in Personify: Start a Call, Join a Call, and Screen Recording so it makes it easy to get started. In Personify’s Call Mode, you can even get the green screen effect for yourself while you share other content like Prezi, Powerpoint slides, web pages, and more. So you can record yourself Personified on top of any content you’d like to interact with!

It is pretty amazing what this Intel RealSense technology can do! It gives you the power of a touch screen but also of gesture control, 3D imaging, and even 3D printing. I am enjoying exploring this new technology and learning as I go.
Here are a few fun photos of my exploring the RealSense tutorial which lets you see yourself in 3D and play with water and other objects on the screen. This is the stuff we used to imagine and see in futuristic movies. Well, I guess the future is here!

More Gesture Control
I am excited to let me kids check out some fun kids apps and use the gesture control. I will share that with you when we get it all figured out and they select their favorite apps!
This video embed should give you an idea of what RealSense technology is like firsthand. I know it is hard to grasp without seeing and trying it for yourself. It is only about a minute long but it gives a little sneak peek into RealSense technology capabilities.
Have you had the opportunity to experiment with RealSense technology yet? Do you think you would find it useful to be able to change your background in videos? What RealSense functionalities appeal to you the most?
