Decorating for the different seasons is one of my favorite things to do as the weather changes. There are so many beautiful home decor items available in the stores and online but they can be very pricey so I love to come up with inexpensive ways to make my home feel festive each season. One very inexpensive way to do this is to bring a little of the outdoors in. During the winter months I like to bring in pine boughs and in the spring and summer fresh flowers are my favorite. In the fall I bring in pumpkins from the garden, beautifully colored fall leaves, acorns, and pine cones. Another thing I like to bring in throughout the year is twigs. Twigs are great for an Easy Fall Centerpiece Craft, giving height and natural beauty to your table.
Fall Twig Centerpiece Craft Tutorial
Supplies:
- Twigs
- Metallic Acrylic Paint in Fall Colors
- Paint Brushes
- Paper Bags or News Paper to Cover Work Surface
- Glass Vase or Cylinder
Instructions For Fall Centerpiece Craft:
Begin by brushing all the dirt and dust from your twigs. Twigs of various sizes work best to give your centerpiece more interest.
Next, cover your work surface to protect it. Pour a small amount of paint out and begin painting your sticks. I selected a metallic paint to add some sparkle. I chose several fall colors.
Continue painting the twigs, setting them aside to dry completely.
Once the twigs have dried decide if you’d like to add another coat of paint to them. I wanted a little of the natural twig to show through so I did not add a second coat.
Place the twigs in a glass vase or glass cylinder or place on a shelf for a beautiful, easy fall centerpiece.
You can add stems of flowers or berries to this as well. You can even do this in other colors for different seasons too!
I painted my twigs with the same paint as my FALL sign. The Fall Centerpiece Craft would look great together with the Fall Sign. If you haven’t seen our tutorial for making DIY Rustic Decor for Fall, be sure to check it out now.
