I was recently introduced to the U.S. Farmers & Ranchers Alliance website FoodDialogues.com where you can “Learn About Your Food.” As a mother, I find the topic of how our food is being raised very relevant to my family’s health. The Food Dialogues offers a place where you can get on a conversation about how America’s farmers and ranchers grow and raise our food. You can watch Discovery Communications’ Networks videos and even ask your own food questions both on the website and on the U.S. Farmers & Ranchers Alliance Facebook page.
Food Dialogues- Learn Where Your Food Comes From
I think The Food Dialogues is a great idea because I like knowing where my food comes from. I am excited to see others are also interested in finding out more about where their food comes from. When we talk about these issues we can learn a lot and improvements can be made when smart consumers vote with their wallets! The Food Dialogues site addresses YOUR questions about food. The have set the table to talk about issues such as the long-term sustainability of the amount of food we’re producing address your questions about antibiotic use in our food. I have been wondering about different types of meat and antibiotic use myself and now I have an educated source to ask for an honest answer! Here is the question of the week so you can get idea for what types of topics they address –
“How will the agricultural industry grow healthier food with less pesticide use and healthier livestock with less or no use of antibiotics?”
