We can all agree that being healthy is important and we usually try the best we can, rather it is by decreasing stress, exercising or even just eating better. More recently pills, creams, and even wraps have popped up all claiming long term health benefits. I’m not all into the latest health fads, but I have been hearing about detox baths for a while and they recently came into light when a dear friend of mine tried one. After doing research I have come up with three DIY Detox Bath recipes that will relax your muscles, increase circulation and pull dangerous toxins out of your body. Here are 3 DIY Detox Baths you can try at home for a spa experience in your own tub!

- 2 cups Epsom Salt
- ½ Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
- 5 to 10 drops of Essential Oil
Ginger DIY Detox Bath
Ginger baths are great for easing headaches, relieving congestion and reducing inflammation, however to do this, you will start sweating, so make sure you follow up a cool bath to lower your body temperature. To get started you can put ginger in cloth, place in tub and allow too steep like a tea bag or you can put it in loosely.
- ¼ grated Ginger
- 1 cup Epsom Salt

Green Tea Detox Bath
Green Tea is known to be great boost of antioxidants, vitamins and a great detoxifier when drinking. However you can also get the same effects in your bath with just tea bags, you can also add Epsom Salt, Baking Soda, and even flowers.

For all Detox Baths, only make the water as hot as you are comfortable with. Additionally, only sit in the bath for however long you are comfortable. Hot water for too long may leave you feeling dizzy so use care when climbing out of the tub. It is really important to listen to your body. Allow yourself time to lie down and relax after the bath. Remember to drink a lot of water to re-hydrate yourself after sweating. Running a cool shower may help to bring down your core temperature.
Conclusion
Most importantly, relax and enjoy the time taken out for yourself! It comes sometimes be just as important to allow quiet time to detox your mind as it is to detox your body. When you get out, you may enjoy using a DIY body spray for aromatherapy relaxation. What is your favorite DIY detox bath? Do you have any special ingredients you add to your water?
