Erika Wassall, the Jersey Farm Scribe here with an easy recipe for candy acorns.  This fun edible fall craft is perfect for making with kids, as treats for guests, classroom parties, and even to package as a DIY gift. You just take some candy and cookies and stick them together to make adorable acorn shaped treats.

How To Make Acorn Candy Cookies

As the cold weather is upon us, it’s hard to remember sometimes that the first day of winter isn’t until December 21st! So in honor I fall, I give you a cute treat that’s easy to put together, impressively life-like and delicious to boot! You are going to love these acorn candy treats.

Candy Acorns
Easy and a great celebration of fall before it ends!

Candy Acorn Ingredients:

  • Mini Nutter Butter Cookies, Bites
  • Mini chocolate chips (1 cup is plenty)
  • Hershey kisses

Candy Acorns Fall Edible Craft Tutorial

Melt about a ½ cup of chocolate chips in the microwave in a very small bowl.

Dip the bottom of a Hersey kiss in the melted chocolate and press it against the side of one of the mini Nutter Butters.

Then do the same with one mini chocolate chip on the other side of the Nutter Butter.

The end result? An adorable candy acorn that looks JUST like the real thing and tastes like chocolate peanut butter goodness!

If for any reason you don’t like peanut butter, you can always use mini Nilla Wafers instead of the Mini Nutter Butters.

These faux acorns make for excellent pie toppers, or plate decorations with any dessert or even a side dish.   So what do you say everyone? Let’s give fall the send off it deserves!

Do you plan to give this recipe a try?  Let me know what you think of this edible fall craft!  What will you put these candy acorns with? Respond in the comments here or reach out to me on Twitter at @NJFarmScribe. I always love to hear from you!
