It’s back to school time! Can you believe it?!We love our teachers and always want to give them a little back to school gift at the start of each school year. Just a little something to let them know we already are thankful for what they will be doing the next year with our kiddos! A little “thank you for being a teacher” gesture. I have no problem with people giving gift cards, sweets, snacks, etc…but around here we like to make our teacher gifts (or at least make most of the gift). I guess that’s the crafter in me! This teacher themed DIY pencil vase is the perfect gift and can hold your teachers favorite flowers OR can be a container for anything he/she wishes.

How To Make A Colored Pencil Vase:

Gather your supplies and head to the table. This is a very easy project but is a little time consuming. Start with your plastic cup and pencils. Add a few drops of glue down the back of a pencil and place on the cup. Hold till dry and do this around the entire cup. I used Gorilla Glue so my pencils only took about 20 seconds to hold onto the cup. I would recommend using some type of quick drying glue or hot glue so that this doesn’t take you too long to finish. As you are gluing your pencils around your cup, make sure to keep them super straight as you are placing them side by side. If one of your pencils is even the slightest bit leaning to one side, your end pencils will not line up properly!

Once you are finished gluing and your glued pencils have dried, tie a ribbon or two around the outside for a little extra touch. Pick out ribbons that are your school colors!

Before delivering your gift, add some fresh flowers!

I hope you enjoyed this easy flower DIY pencil vase. I think it makes such a cute back-to-school themed gift. But if you prefer, you could use it as a cute pencil vase on desks, tables, or in offices to keep writing instruments organized and easily accessible. Do you give teachers back to school gifts? If you would like to give a little inexpensive gift this year, try your hand at this fun pencil vase!
