Soothing Rose DIY Bath Soak
A DIY bath soak offers a natural, customizable, and affordable way to relax and care for your body and mind. By using natural ingredients, you can create a nice soothing soak tailored to your needs—whether it’s relieving sore muscles, softening skin, or calming stress. Unlike store-bought products, DIY versions allow you to avoid harsh chemicals and synthetic fragrances, making them a gentler choice for sensitive skin. Plus, crafting your own bath soak can be a mindful, creative activity that enhances your self-care routine.
What To Put In A Bath Soak?
The natural bath soak ingredients we chose for this bath soak recipe include epsom salts, sea salt, essential oils, and rose petals.
Epsom Salts, also known as magnesium sulfate, are used in this soothing bath soak for their soothing beneficial effects of relaxing muscles and easing tension. In addition, they are thought to help “draw out” toxins from the body for a detox effect.
Pink Himalayan Salt or Course Sea Salt are added to this DIY bath soak for their mineral content and benefits to the skin.
Roman Chamomile Essential Oil has many benefits. In specific, Roman Chamomile was chosen for its anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory properties, and relaxing properties.
You can use Lavender Essential Oil or Rose Essential Oil. A high quality rose essential oil can be quite expensive so this recipe uses lavender which has many of the same soothing benefits at a much lower price.
Bath Soak Recipe Ingredients:

How To Make Bath Soak With Flowers
How Do You Make A Bath Soak?
Gather your ingredients together. Place all dry ingredients in a medium size mixing bowl. Stir together until completely mixed. Add 4 drops of Lavender Essential Oil and 4 drops of Roman Chamomile Essential Oil. I recommend Young Living Essential Oils because they are 100% pure. Stir together with the dry ingredients.
The dried rose buds will break up as you mix the bath salts. This is good because smaller pieces will drain easier and create less clean up! The rose petals are lovely for scent and decoration. I think the roses add a little something special.
Other dried flowers you can use: Lavender or Roman Chamomile buds. This homemade bath soak is scented with flower essential oils and the roses are a nice flowery touch.
Add 1/2 a tablespoon of beet juice for a light pink colored DIY bath soak. Or use a 1/2 teaspoon of beet powder. Add more for a darker pink color. If you’d like a purple soak, replace beet juice with blueberry juice. If you’d like an orange soak, replace beet juice with carrot juice. Still well.
Use homemade bath salts immediately or store in a glass jar in a cool, dry place. Add 1 cup to your wam bath water and enjoy bath time! I like to pour mine in under warm running water to help them dissolve. Try them in your next bath. Don’t forget to take a couple of deep breaths and enjoy the uplifting natural fragrance of the flowers after a long day.

To Give Bath Salts As A DIY Gift:
If you are packaging up your soak to give as a gift, I recommend using the brown coffee bags pictured. I also like to add a little color to the bags by wrapping some twine or paper rope around the length of the bag a few times. They also look great in small glass jars with a ribbon bow. There are so many ways to customize your bath salts and gift presentation!
