In the summer and winter my face just tends to become drier than all the other seasons of the year! I have a great moisturizer that I use daily but really needed a little something extra to provide deep moisturization a few times a week. I came up with a really wonderful hydrating face mask. This DIY Hydrating Face Mask is very easy to make and it’s all natural which is one thing I really like to lean towards when purchasing and even making my own products. It is simple with only 4 ingredients. This face mask takes about 2 minutes of your time to whip up and can be stored in a jar for up to a few months.

DIY Hydrating Face Mask Tutorial
Face Mask Ingredients:
- mixing bowl
- tablespoon
- jar with lid
- jojoba oil
- raw honey
- palmarosa essential oil and lavender essential oil
Here are a few benefits of the key ingredients:
Honey- a humectant which attracts moisture to the skin. Honey also promotes healing and has natural anti-microbial properties.
Jojoba Oil- this oil is the closest oil to our natural sebum. Jojoba is a natural moisturizer.
Young Living Palmarosa Oil- It’s antiviral and a bactericide. Palmarosa oil relaxes muscles and heals cracked skin.
Young Living Lavender Oil- It has antimicrobial properties. It’s calming and soothing to the mind and also to the skin. Helps regulate over excretion of sebum and soothes dry skin. It also speeds up the healing process of minor cuts and scrapes.
I am distributor for Young Living Essential oils, you can find out more about using essential oils from me on Instagram.
How To Make A Hydrating Face Mask:
Gather your supplies and head to your kitchen counter. First grab your bowl and your tablespoon. Measure out 2 tablespoons or your raw honey then one tablespoon of your jojoba oil. Mix these together with a fork or whisk for about a minute. They will not totally mix together and that’s ok.
Next, grab your essential oils. I use Young Living oils and can only speak to that brand of essential oils. Add 3 drops of Palmarosa essential oil and 3 drops of Lavender essential oil into your honey/jojoba oil mixture.
Give everything a good mix then transfer (you might need to use a spatula to get everything out of the bowl) your face mask into your jar! See, very easy to make and you will love using it!

Essential oils should never be applied undiluted to the skin as they may cause irritation. Please refer to product safety guidelines before using essential oils for the first time.
How To Use Face Mask
I recommend using your Hydrating Face Mask 1-3 times a week. Start out with 2 times and then add a another day, only if you feel like your skin needs it. Leave on for about 10-15 minutes then gently wipe off with a warm cloth. The best thing about this face mask is that there is nothing in it that is harmful. The essential oils in this mask are both gentle and hydrating oils. They are used in many face products.
Use this hydrating mask about twice a week as part of your skin care routine. Overdoing masks—even hydrating ones—can overwhelm oily skin, so spacing them out gives your skin time to self-regulate.
Can this be used for oily skin?
Yes — this mask can be good for oily skin. Jojoba oil is non-comedogenic and closely mimics the skin’s natural sebum, which can help balance oil production. Raw honey is naturally antibacterial and can help keep pores clear, while palmarosa essential oil supports skin regeneration and regulates sebum. Lavender essential oil adds a calming, anti-inflammatory touch. Together, they hydrate without clogging pores, making the mask a gentle option for oily or combination skin types.
Conclusion
Creating your own hydrating face mask with just jojoba oil, raw honey, palmarosa essential oil, and lavender essential oil is a simple yet luxurious way to nourish your skin naturally. This gentle blend helps lock in moisture, soothe irritation, and promote a healthy glow without any harsh chemicals. With only four ingredients, you can enjoy a spa-like treatment right at home—leaving your skin soft, supple, and beautifully refreshed.
