The Organic Coffee Co Review and Giveaway

I am happy to say that The Organic Coffee Co. has provided organic coffee for an Organic Coffee Co review and giveaway here on Family Focus Blog.

Rogers Family Coffee Company encompasses several brands of tea and coffee but their line of organic coffee- The Organic Coffee Co.- caught my eye.

“The fact that we are growing our own coffee on biodiverse shade coffee farms makes us a carbon negative company. You can feel good knowing your Rogers coffee is actually improving carbon conditions in the atmosphere.”

Now that is my kind of coffee! Plus, of course, the organic coffee certification itself makes me happy because it means they use only natural, non-toxic fertilizers and pest management techniques on their coffee plants.  I also dig the social commitment- “Through our groundbreaking Community Aid Program, we strive to break the cycle of poverty that exists in coffee communities by spending upwards of $1 million – every year – to improve the education, housing, health, and sanitary conditions for workers and their families on every farm where we do business.”

The Organic Coffee Co. Review:

organic coffee review

I enjoy starting most days with a nice latte and as someone who worked at a coffee shop for over a year, I enjoy a good quality coffee bean to make that with.  The Organic Coffee Co. is a shade-grown, organic coffee bean so I know that I am off to a good start.   The Organic Coffee Co. beans are premium quality beans, roasted to perfection with an exclusive varying temperature/airflow process – “a mix of artisan roasting and scientific excellence.”  When I open the coffee bag, I can tell the beans are nice and fresh because of the wonderful aroma and the shine on the beans.  I grind my beans fresh before use and brew up an espresso in my stovetop espresso maker- so easy, reasonably priced, and delicious.

I reviewed four organic coffee roast, which I have arranged below by roast with the darkest roast at the bottom.

Stellar Brew Coffee – 100% Organic

Strong, and full-bodied; a medium roast coffee.  I enjoyed the Stellar Brew as a drip coffee and it was a nice full flavor without being too rich or heavy.

Java Love Coffee – 100% Organic

An exotic and syrupy blend of Indonesian and Latin American coffees.  I also enjoyed the Java Love as a drip coffee and found it to have a developed flavor yet with a brightness that was very nice for a breakfast coffee.

Hurricane Espresso – 100% Organic

A whirlwind of dark roasts blended to give a potent, vibrant cup with a calm aftertaste.  An excellent coffee for espressos and lattes.  A very rich full flavor and body that can stand up to the milk of a latte.

French Roast Coffee – 100% Organic

Enjoy the distinct, smoky, bold taste French Roast fanatics love.  I enjoy this coffee as a drip coffee or as an espresso. I love the smoky heaviness that sits on my palate for lingering enjoyment.

I am very happy with the quality, freshness, and variety of roasts that I tried from the Organic Coffee Co.  You can check out the whole selection of Organic Coffee Co. roasts at gourmet-coffee.com/organic-coffee-company. Organic Coffee Co. is available in Organic OneCup Single Serve, trail sizes, 12 oz. size, 2 lb size, and gift baskets.  It is also available at many super markets.

I am not a coffee drinker but my husband loves dark roast coffee. I think the Hurricane Espresso would be fun for him to try.

I love knowing that it comes in one cup variety so it can be used in a keurig. I would love to try the OneCup Organic Rainforest Blend Coffee

It’s a tie between the Breakfast Blend and the Zen Blend Coffee. I couldn’t make up my mind.

I’d like the coffee and tea gifts. I’m not a coffee drinker but my husband is and that way we’d both have something we’d like! :)
