If you are heading to the beach or a sandy spot this summer, we have the perfect quick and easy DIY project for you and your kid/kids to do! When you get a few kids together with sand buckets and sand toys, sometimes it’s easy to forget which bucket is you child’s. They all look alike and sometimes a few are the same colors. Sure, you could take a Sharpie and write their name on the bottom of the sand pail but we have a little personalizing hack that’s quite a bit cuter! These DIY Personalized Beach Buckets will be a cute addition to any beach day and your child will quickly be able to spot theirs!
DIY Personalized Sand Buckets Tutorial
Supplies Needed For Personalized Beach Toys:
- Sand Buckets (any size plastic buckets will work)
- Waterproof Sticker Letters
This is a cute easy, and cheap craft. However, if you wanted to dress it up a bit or make pails for adults you could use metal buckets. Those would make the perfect gift for filling with garden supplies.
How To Make Personalized Beach Buckets:
First, you can try to peel those bucket label price stickers off. A few drops of lemon essential oil directly on the label will help the sticker come off easily or you can just turn your bucket to the opposite side for your letter stickers. Make sure your bucket is clean and dry so your waterproof letter stickers will adhere well. Now, you can either choose to spell out your child’s full name. Or you can just choose to do it monogram style with three letters (first middle and last initials). We did both! If you choose to go the monogram route, I think it looks better to have a slightly larger sticker for the last name letter.
Waterproof stickers can be found at your local craft store or through my amazon affiliate link.
For the custom design, simply peel off the letters of your child’s name one by one and stick them onto the beach sand bucket. We chose white stickers but any color will do! The stickers DO hold up in the sand. We haven’t put them in water but I’m not 100% sure that the stickers would survive getting wet. There might be waterproof stickers in art and craft stores if getting a bucket wet is something you are concerned about. We can’t wait to use our personalized beach buckets when we go to Panama City Beach!
You can also personalize their beach shovel and other beach toys as well! It makes it easy to collect the right sand toys when it is time to leave. If they are gifts, you can roll up beach towels to stuff inside.
These personalized buckets are great party favors as well if you have a summer themed party.
