I mostly take day hikes but I have done overnight hiking trips in the White Mountains and I know how important comfortable hiking shoes can be. I was happy to review this pair of Lowa Renegade GTX® Mid Hiking Boots in Taupe/Sepia because they have everything I look for in hiking boots! Hiking boots have to comfortable and offer great support. To me, the main components of comfort in hiking boots has to do with weight (because you don’t want to haul extra pounds around if you don’t have to) and an awesome cushioned footbed. I was provided with Lowa Renegade GTX MId hiking boots in order to facilitate review.
Lowa Renegade GTX Hiking Boots Review: Lightweight, Supportive, and Waterproof
Lowa Renegade GTX® Mid Hiking Boots weigh in at a lightweight 1 lb, 15 oz and I dig that! I also dig that the cushioned footbed is perforated to improve breathability and the climate control footbead helps keep you from getting blisters as you hike- super important. The Lowa Regegade GTX features a Vibram® Evo outsole which means these boots have amazing gripping soles to prevent slipping and make climbing easier and safer.
Is Lowa Renegade Waterproof?
Yes, Lowa Renegade boots are waterproof. The fact that these boots have a GORE-TEX® Lining just makes me love them even more because I love waterproof in case you have to cross a stream, get rained on, or step in the mud.
How good are Lowa Renegade?
These hiking boots have all the features you could want to help make hiking more comfortable and safe. I found that I got plenty of ankle support with the derby style lacing to ensure a customized fit. I am loving using these hiking boots for day hikes. Plus, these women’s mid-cut hiking boots look great with a nubuck leather upper and contrasting Taupe/Sepia colors. (Other colors pairs available too.) I would recommend the Lowa Renegade GTX® Mid Hiking Boots to anyone who wants lightweight hiking books that still offer plenty of support and gripping power.
