Here is an awesome, fun Christmas Video that a friend shared with me:
“Christmas in My Heart” by Nichole Cooper
I think this Christmas Video really great. I love Nichole Cooper’s voice, it’s fun to watch, and this video is going to go along way to making someone’s dreams come true because all proceeds from the sale on iTunes are being donated to Natalie Hill, a fifteen-year-old girl struggling with terminal cancer from Nichole’s home town. I love that Nichole is not afraid to dream big.
Nichole Cooper is a songwriter and recording artist living in Nashville TN. She recently teamed up with a Nashville producer to make a full 10 song album and she has produced two music videos in the past two months. She was most recently asked to perform in a Christmas Special downtown Nashville that will be broadcast live on Country music’s most famed radio station: WSM The legend.
Nichole Cooper was kind enough to answer a few questions for me!
Nichole Cooper Interview:
What’s your favorite part of Christmas?
Everything! From the colors and lights to the food and the family, Christmas is such a joyful time of year and I am a sucker for its cheer and nostalgia. My favorite Christmas memories are the times I got to get all dressed up in my Christmas best (itchy tights included) and go to my father’s company Christmas party. They served cocktail weenies and smoked cheeses, I felt so fancy drinking sparkling cider from a plastic champagne flute.
What was your favorite part of making the video?
What I loved most about making this video were the “happy accidents”. Whenever Andrew (director) and I work together, something magical seems to happen. As we were shooting the outdoor scenes of me in front of a Christmas tree, all of the sudden a huge fireworks display started going off! We just kept rolling and got some great footage that ended up making the video. That night there happened to be a Christmas parade going by us as well, so we ran to the honky tonk I work at, climbed the stairs to the attic, and shot footage out the window, of the parade passing by. These moments that Andrew and I share are so special to me, we have many stories like this and I believe it is because we have allowed our inner child to come alive while we are creating art, and magical things happen to children who believe.
What inspired you to donate all your proceed from this video?
We became inspired to donate the proceeds from this video to Natalie Hill because of an email I was sent a few weeks ago. Someone from my little hometown in Oregon sent me a letter introducing me to Natalie, this 15 year old girl who is battling terminal cancer. The letter included a bucket list that Natalie had made. It was a short list of the things Natalie would like to experience before she passes. It ripped my heart out. Things like “have a boy sneak through my window, toilet paper a house, go Christmas caroling with a big group like you see in the movies” It was so touching and heartbreaking. The reason I was sent the letter is because I live in Nashville and I am from this tiny part of Oregon. The lady sending it hoped I could help Natalie check off #44, to meet Taylor Swift. I have been trying very hard to make that happen, but as you know Miss Swift is probably the busiest, most famous artist on the planet right now. Wheels have been set in motion and we are hopeful that this will happen, but in the mean time I kept wondering what else I could do for this beautiful and brave girl. I showed my producer and Andrew her bucket list, and they of course were moved. It just made sense during the season of Christmas to do something good for someone else. She turns sweet 16 this week, and if I could make any kind of Christmas wish this year, it would be that every item on her bucket list gets checked off.
You can check out her single “Christmas In My Heart” on iTunes!
