Cuboro Tricky Ways Marble Run Game
This new strategy game based is based on the award-winning Swiss marble run Cuboro. Tricky Ways is basically a wooden board game where you make progress around the board by constructing the longest paths for the marble within the board- either on top of or inside of the wooden Cuboro blocks.
Cuboro Trick Ways: “Simple to learn, but hard to master – and fun every time.”
Cuboro Tricky Ways is a new, unique 3-D strategy marble run game that will develop and challenge your spatial skills and your ability to think ahead. The overall goal of Tricky Ways is to collect points by rearranging the Cuboro cubes on each turn to make the longest track possible for a marble as it rolls from the starting tower to one of the open “exit” spaces at the game board’s edge. On each turn, a player is allowed to manipulate (rotate, shift, or jump) up to 3 blocks to create a new marble run track that will successfully drop a marble into a new exit spot.
Cuboro marble runs are known as generational toys because they are both durable for generations and able to hold the attention of multiple generations. Cuboro Tricky Ways is no different and it offers extra levels of difficulty for players that are up to even more of a challenge. There are two ways to play Tricky Ways. The first simply uses the tracks (or channels) on the surfaces of the cubes. The second way makes full use of the 3rd dimension by allowing the marble tracks to go INSIDE the blocks and use the tunnels as part of the new track.
Cuboro Tricky Ways Review
Tricky Ways Marble Run Game is labeled for ages 6 and up, so I put it to the test with my in-house professional toy and game players. Tricky ways is fairly simple to grasp but has a lot of depth, strategically speaking. My kids and I have been testing it out and I love that you don’t just roll and let luck take you where it will. Each turn you have to think about what exit spots are available and how you can create the longest marble path to reach that spot while only moving three cubes. Pretty tricky! It is a fun game that requires your full attention to plan and build your path but is not a game that drags on for very long. In fact, it really only takes about 15 minutes to play (give or take) so we usually play a few rounds of it when we play which is nice because it gives the opportunity for multiple people to win.
This is truly a game that is easy to learn, but difficult to master. I find it very challenging and engaging but my 7 year old is still able to join right in. In fact, he usually beats me, but don’t tell anyone! The natural and durable beauty of the meticulously crafted wooden Cuboro blocks also add an extra element to this game that I enjoy. It is a game, I don’t mind them leaving out on the coffee table and it doesn’t really take up too much space!
