I love the taste of honey! Growing up, my mom always bought raw honey because she said it was better for us and she often got the thick, creamy gold colored honey that is a whole different treat than from what comes in honey bears.  So when I had I the chance to review Dr. Mercola Raw Honey, I jumped at the chance! I know that Dr. Mercola makes quality products but I had not yet tried the raw honey. I was provided with Dr. Mercola Raw Honey in order to facilitate review and giveaway.

Pure Gold Raw Honey Review

Dr. Mercola raw honey review

Dr. Mercola Raw Honey comes in a pretty 12 oz. glass jar.  It is smooth and creamy in texture.  You can use a spoon to scoop out some for your tea without it dripping all over.  You can use a knife to spread some on your toast without the honey dripping off the sides.  I love the Dr. Mercola Raw Honey.  It tastes great. I spread some on a piece of bread with butter in the morning for breakfast and I’m in heaven.  It is a real treat! I do love to put a spoonful into my tea daily and enjoy the benefits and flavor that way.

Benefits of Raw Honey

As Dr. Mercola points out, raw unprocessed honey is humankind’s oldest sweetener. Dr. Mercola Raw Honey contains natural antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and amino acids.

What is raw honey?

Raw honey is honey that has not been cooked. Much of the honey you buy at the store is pasteurized, which means it is exposed to high heat. This pasteurization process helps extend shelf life and it also makes it smoother. Raw honey on the other hand will crystalize and be a rather thick creamy texture that will defy pouring.

Many grocery store honey brands also use a process of ultrafiltration to increase clarity but this process also removes pollen and enzymes. Raw honey does not.

Many health experts such that raw honey is better for you because is in its most natural form. As Healthline says, raw honey “nearly 30 types of bioactive plant compounds. These are called polyphenols, and they act as antioxidants. Many studies have linked these antioxidants with impressive health benefits, including reduced inflammation and a lower risk of heart disease and certain cancers.”

I know that it is best to limit sweeteners in your diet. That is why I like having a healthier choice available because I have a huge sweet tooth.  You can read more about Dr. Mercola Pure Gold Raw Honey at mercola.com and you can order it there too.
