DIY Eye Firming Serum Recipe
Homemade Eye Serum Recipe Ingredients:
- 10 ml roller bottle
- Sweet Almond Oil or Jojoba Oil
- Young Living Geranium Essential Oil
- Young Living Frankincense Essential Oil
How To Make Under Eye Serum At Home:
First gather your supplies and grab a seat at your table. Unscrew the cap off of your roller bottle and gently pop the rollerball top off.
Take your essential oils and place 5 drops of each one into your bottle. Frankincense essential oils are high in anti-oxidant and thus renowned for anti-aging properties. They also known for their tightening effect on skin. Geranium essential oil is known for its astringent, diuretic properties and is often used to reduce inflammation and irritation. They are very potent essential oils and should never be used directly on the skin without being mixed with a carrier oil first. In this case we use almond oil as the carrier oil.
After you have dropped your Geranium and Frankincense essential oils in, take your Sweet Almond Oil and fill your bottle the rest of the way up. Just to the bottom of the neck of your bottle. This will allow enough room for your rollerball to pop back on. Sweet almond oil is a great source of antioxidants. According to Buckler’s Remedy, “Oxidative stress (A.K.A. when your body doesn’t have enough antioxidants to fight free radicals) is a major cause of the deterioration of your skin’s collagen layer.” So sweet almond oil helps protect your collagen keep your skin looking supple and wrinkle-free.
For extra under eye nourishment, add 2-3 drops of Vitamin E oil which helps cells regenerate.
Pop your rollerball back on and screw the cap back on as well. Give your under eye firming serum a gentle shake and it’s ready to use!
How To Use Eye Serum
If this is the first time you are going to use your homemade eye serum, test it on the soft skin on your arm first just to be sure that you don’t have any sensitivities to the essential oils. The following day, you can go ahead and roll a bit of the DIY eye serum under your eyes and around the sides where crows feet can form. You never want to get the oil in your eyes! It is only for use around the eye area.
