DIY Firming Eye Serum Recipe
This homemade serum is great for refreshing tired eyes and all skin types.
Homemade Eye Serum Recipe All Natural Ingredients:
- 10 ml roller bottle
- Sweet Almond Oil
- Young Living Geranium Essential Oil
- Young Living Frankincense Essential Oil
Sweet almond oil is a great source of antioxidants. According to Buckler’s Remedy, “Oxidative stress (A.K.A. when your body doesn’t have enough antioxidants to fight free radicals) is a major cause of the deterioration of your skin’s collagen layer.” So sweet almond oil helps protect your collagen production keeping your skin looking supple and wrinkle-free. Almond oil also contains valuable fatty acids, vitamins and minerals in a combination that improves skin tone and promotes a healthy complexion. However, you may substitute an alternative carrier oil such as jojoba oil, rosehip seed oil, avocado oil, coconut oil, argan oil, grapeseed oil or even aloe vera gel. Each of these simple ingredients has natural healing properties.
How To Make Essential Oil Eye Serum Recipe:
First gather your supplies and grab a seat at your table. Unscrew the cap off of your roller bottle and gently pop the rollerball top off.
Take your essential oils and place 5 drops of each one into your bottle. Frankincense essential oils are high in anti-oxidant and thus renowned for anti-aging properties. They also known for their tightening effect on skin. Geranium essential oil is known for its astringent, diuretic properties and is often used to reduce inflammation and irritation. They are very potent essential oils and should never be used directly on the skin without being mixed with a carrier oil first. In this case we use almond oil as the carrier oil.
After you have dropped your Geranium and Frankincense essential oils in, take your Sweet Almond Oil and fill your bottle the rest of the way up. Just to the bottom of the neck of your bottle. This will allow enough room for your rollerball to pop back on.
For extra under eye nourishment, add 2-3 drops of Vitamin E oil (can use vitamin e capsules as a source) which helps cells regenerate.
Pop your rollerball back on and screw the cap back on as well. Give your under eye firming serum a gentle shake and it’s ready to use!
How To Use DIY Under Eye Serum
If this is the first time you are going to use your homemade eye serum, test it first. Just rub small amount on a small patch of the delicate skin on your arm. This is a good idea to be sure that you don’t have any sensitivities to the essential oils.
The following day, roll a bit of the DIY eye serum under your eyes to help prevent dark circles. Also apply a bit around the sides of your eyes where crows feet can form. You never want to get the oil in your eyes! It is only for use around the eye area. This eye serum is great soothing puffy eyes and dry skin. For best results use daily. You may use morning or night.
I love the way the anti-inflammatory properties of the serum help sooth my eye skin and leaving it feeling refreshed. It costs so much much less to make than expensive eye creams I think it works every bit as well. I think it does wonders to prevent the appearance of fine lines as well as reduce eye puffiness.
Also, don’t forget that lack of sleep is detrimental to your overall health. It can definitely leave you feeling drained and with eye bags. So try to get at least 6-8 hours of sleep every night. It is another natural way to care for your health and improve your natural skin glow.
