How To Eliminate Refrigerator Odor

First get rid of anything old or rotten in your fridge. Next, just set your jar of the best refrigerator deodorizer mix on a shelf near the back where it won’t be in the way or in the door where it won’t be knocked over. You can also place a second container in the crisper drawer if odors persist. Though you will get an immediate fresh scent from the essential oils, leave the DIY fridge deodorizer for at least 24 hours to start absorbing odors into the baking soda. Swap out the baking soda every 1–3 months for general freshness. If dealing with a particularly strong odor, replace it sooner. Stir the baking soda occasionally to expose fresh surface area.

I like placing my jar of Fridge Odor Eliminator in the door of my Amana refrigerator so that when I open it, I get a nice fresh burst of the scent. However, you can really place the fridge odor remover on any shelves and in drawers. You can even make two of these refrigerator refreshers if you’d like to put one in your fridge and freezer too. This works as a freezer odor absorber to get absorb odor molecules and rid of that freezer burn smell. Want to go beyond odor control? Here are some pro tips.

BONUS Pro Tips For Better Food Preservation And Less Spoilage:

  • Use airtight containers to prevent moisture loss and odor absorption.
  • Keep fruits and vegetables separate to slow ripening and spoilage.

Great tips on tackling home odors! It’s so true that finding the source is key—covering up smells with air fresheners only works temporarily. I’ve found that natural solutions like baking soda, vinegar, and activated charcoal work wonders for absorbing odors. Also, keeping up with regular deep cleaning, especially in overlooked spots like drains and vents, makes a big difference. Thanks for the helpful breakdown!
