From the first time you saw Antonio Sabato Jr. in Janet Jackson’s “Love Would Never Do Without You” video to turns on legendary shows like Melrose Place and Ally McBeal, he’s always been able to captivate attention! Now he is the host of the new show “Fix It & Finish It”. Every day of every week he will be in a different city, finding homes, cabins, RV’s, tree houses needing a makeover inside and out. Antonio and his team of contractors and designers will go in and create magic by way of their talent to turn something around in a very short period of time. I love home makeovers and seeing how they come up with the design and complete the renovations.

Interview with Antonio Sabato Jr
Me: I hear you will be the host of “Fix It & Finish It”. You and your team of contractors and designers will go in and wow us by turning home projects around in a very short period of time. That sounds like fun to watch! How about the process though? Is it ever overwhelming?
Antonio: Sometimes! There is so much to do in one day…you just have to trust that it will get done and that the homeowners will be happy. We have a great crew and somehow, we make it happen.
What are some of the most unexpected elements of the show that you find challenging?
How long demolition takes…even for a small space. I would also say finding termites or other pests that are hiding out. Working very, very long hours…It’s all worth it though because I really love doing the show. It feels good to make a difference in someone’s life and I get to do that every day.
How do you find the next home project for the show?
I leave that up to the producers…I’m too busy getting my hands dirty!
For homeowners who want to take on a makeover project, what do you suggest as the best project for most return on your investment?
Probably landscaping…improving the curb appeal of your home with flowers, plants and hardscape can make a huge difference and it’s not too expensive to do.
What is the project that usually makes the least sense as far as return on investment?
Making over the garage!
What is the value of flipping unfinished basement space- does it usually have a good return?
I’d say it’s far down on the list after kitchens, master bedrooms, entrances, living rooms, dens, offices….
Conclusion
What is the most important thing to remember when it comes to fixing and finishing a home project?
Research what needs to be done and do it right the first time. It also helps to have the right tools for the job.
I hope you enjoyed the Q&A with Antonio Sabato Jr. I love watching him work! You can see more for yourself on the Fix It & Finish It which just premiered on September 8th. Have you watched it yet? Do you think you will now?
