Olympic gold medalist Kristi Yamaguchi was gracious enough to answer some questions about motherhood and her forthcoming children’s picture book, It’s a Big World, Little Pig! I received a copy of the Kristi Yamaguchi Children’s book and my kids and I just love it.

Could you tell us a little about the Always Dream Foundation that you are involved with?

Now, we are focusing on early childhood literacy and developing programs to be integrated at home a well as in the classroom to encourage the love of books and reading at an early age. Especially in the under served areas.“
You have accomplished so much in so many venues! What’s next?
“I am excited about my second book to be released March 6th. I am also launching an exclusive women’s active wear line in the Fall of 2012.”
Could you share a motherhood story with us- something that you love, a funny story, or how it has changed you?
“I remember a moment when my 2 daughters started bonding. We were in the car and Keara was age 2-forward facing and Emma was probably a few months old-rear facing. Keara was chatting and cooing at Emma and she made her laugh with her for the first time. Keara was so proud and excited and Emma hasn’t stopped pining for Keara’s attention since. It was an amazing and emotional moment seeing that happen and feeling their bond for the first time.“
Kristi Yamaguchi Children’s Book- “It’s a Big World, Little Pig!”
In this sequel to New York Times bestseller, Dream Big, Little Pig, Poppy, the adorable, persistent, dreaming-big pig, has a new adventure in store for her- the World Games ice skating championship in Paris!
In It’s a Big World, Little Pig!, Poppy faces her fears of meeting so many new people being in a new place. Poppy comes to realize that although the animals she meets all look different, act different, and are from different places, they can each connect and share a little of themselves. Kristi Yamaguchi reminds her young readers to be courageous, have an open heart and to “Always Dream.” I received an advance copy of It’s a Big World, Little Pig and I can say that both my 4 year old son and my 6 year old daughter really enjoy the reading the book. I love the messages and they love the fun, eye catching illustrations.
I was provided with the book in the hopes that I would share my honest opinions. I received no monetary compensation and the opinions expressed are my own.
