Limeades for Learning In Celebration of Teacher Appreciation

It is May already and that means that soon enough, the school year will be wrapping up! The end of the year is always a great time to thank teachers. They do so much for our children throughout the year. In celebration of Teacher Appreciation in May, I am happy to partner with SONIC Drive-In to share their annual Limeades for Learning campaign, a philanthropic initiative that donates $3 million per year in support of public school teachers all over the country! Pretty cool.

What is Limeades For Learning?

Limeades for Learning is a year-round national initiative of SONIC® Drive-In® to support public school teachers. In partnership with DonorsChoose.org, SONIC provides essential funds for learning materials. This helps inspire creativity and learning and support public school teachers in local communities throughout the U.S. To date, SONIC has donated more than $11.9 million to public school teachers, funding more than 27,407  classroom projects and supporting more than 822,210 students.

Many public school teachers spend hundreds of their own dollars to buy supplies they need for their classrooms. SONIC saw this need and created Limeades for Learning. This is a way to help offset some of the teachers’ expenses. It provides funding for the supplies and resources they need. Limeades for Learning is successful with the help of DonorsChoose.org, an organization dedicated to making it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. See more on this below.

Limeades For Learning $1 Million Donation Match For May

Starting Wednesday, May 8, SONIC is launching a $1 million donation match with DonorsChoose.org to help public school teachers get the supplies they need. Donating to support teachers is easy- just visit the Limeades for Learning projects page to browse all projects posted by SONIC teachers, select a project in need of support, and click Donate. Then, SONIC will match your donation dollar for dollar.

I previewed some of the teacher projects in my area. They range from art supplies to Kindles for individualized learning, to basic school supplies. I chose to support a project to help provide students with organizational materials. You can pick the school project that catches your heart at the school of your choice. Your support will be doubled with the SONIC Limeades For Learning donation match!
