It’s never too early to make Valentine items! We started decorating for Valentine’s Day after we finished taking down our Christmas tree. When I take down one holiday’s decorations, I like to go ahead and decorate for the next holiday coming up! That way my house always has a little decoration. This Valentine Snow Globe Craft Project is so easy to make that you can even get your kids to help! They might even want to make one of their own. Girls and boys alike will love making these Valentine snow globes and they are easy to customize DIY Valentine’s Day decor.
Valentines Snow Globe Tutorial
Do you enjoy holiday decorations? This snow globe valentine is super cute to set out on the mantle as V-day decor or it can also be a pretty DIY gift for that special someone. It is a great adult Valentine’s Day craft that teens and older kids can enjoy too.
Snow Globe Valentine Craft Supplies Needed:
- mason jar
- hot glue gun and hot glue sticks
- different colored paper
- sucker sticks (may use pipe cleaners instead)
- scissors
- ribbon or any other decoration you might want
- “snow”-micro foam balls (available at a local craft store or through this affiliate amazon link)
First take a look at my Valentines snow globe and decide whether you would like to copy it exactly or use it for inspiration. You can always feel to change up parts of it to use colors you love the most or even add photos with the hearts. Valentines Day snow globes are so fun to personalize!
Easy Homemade Valentine’s Day Snow Globe
Start with your mason jar lid and rim. Glue the rim to the lid so that the whole top will be secure. Next, take your paper and cut out heart shape or other objects that you would like in your snow globe. I cut out different size hearts and the word “LOVE”.
After you have cut out your shapes, grab your sucker sticks, AKA lollipop sticks (these can be found at most craft stores and even some grocery stores). Put a dab of glue at the top of your stick and add a shape, such as a red heart, to it. You can even cut your sticks to make different lengths. This works well so that you can see more of your objects in your globe. Add shorter sticks in the front and taller ones in the back. Once your objects/shapes are glued to your sticks, glue the bottom of the sticks to the bottom of the jar lid in the right place.
Once everything is glued down, add your snow to your jar! Add as little or as much as you want. I found my bag of micro foam balls at Target around Christmas time but you can also find them at craft stores! After adding your snow, screw the lid on your jar and turn it upside down! You have a Valentine Snow Globe. Now you can make even more of the same one to use as the perfect gift. Or you can change it up a bit and use words like “Be Mine” and have a whole collection of Valentine Snow Globes to use for Valentine’s Day party decor.
Snow Globe Valentine DIY Instructions
Time needed: 15 minutes
Directions
- Prepare Lid
Glue the mason jar rim to the lid using hot glue so that the whole top will be secure as one piece.
- Prepare Paper Decor
Cut hearts and the word “love” out of various colors of construction paper or scrap booking paper.
- Affix Paper Decor To Lollipop Sticks
Put a dab of hot glue at the top of your lollipop stick and add a shape (or 2) to the stick.
- Affix Lollipop Sticks To Lid
Cut your sticks to make different lengths so that you can see more of your objects in your globe. Use hot glue to affix the bottom of the sticks to jar lid so that they stand up on display how you like them.
- Add “Snow” To Jar and Screw Together
Add about 1/4 cup of the mini styrofoam balls. After adding your snow, screw the lid on your jar and turn it upside down! You are all done. Enjoy your Valentine Snow Globe!
