It’s hard to believe that Valentine’s Day is less than a month away.  We’ve always celebrated Valentine’s Day as a family, even when I was a child.  My mom still has Valentine’s Day parties for all the kids and grandchildren.  I especially love helping the kids come up with a special Valentine for their classroom exchange that won’t just be thrown away or isn’t candy.  They get SO much candy and I don’t like to add to that. That is why I came up with these free printable Valentine’s Day bookmarks for my child’s classroom. They make a great gift. I mean, who couldn’t use a few Valentine bookmarks?!

This year we are making Valentine’s Day Bookmarks. My kids absolutely love to read and so do their friends. We thought that a bookmark printed on heavy card stock would make an adorable Valentine giveaway that their friends could enjoy for a long time! These free printable bookmarks are a great way to encourage a love of reading any time of year. Plus, these Valentine bookmarks are great Valentine candy alternatives or extras.

3 Free Printable Valentine Bookmarks

These free printable Valentine’s Day bookmarks print 3 different designs to a page so there is a variety to give away. They could be printed on any color of card stock you want to use, I used white. Then, in just a few simple steps, you can embellish them so they are ready to gift as homemade Valentines.

First, Print Valentine Bookmarks Printable

Just click on the above image of the Valentine bookmarks free printable to print your own!  Or drag the image to your desktop then select “File” from the top menu and “Print” from the drop down menu. Or if you prefer, you can access my favorite bookmark design in pdf format.

These free printables are great way to encourage reading too! It is best to use a heavy white card stock for printing so the bookmarks will be nice and thick and hold up longer. Print out enough for the whole class and the teachers.

Don’t forget to print some for your child from you. I am sure they will enjoy these cute bookmarks for their personal use too! You can wait to give them theirs until February 14th along with a few of their favorite books!

Second, Fill Out To And From

Once they are printed out, cut each one out. Then fill in the “to:” and “from:” portion. This personalizes the bookmarks and they will make great keepsakes too. Add the year on there too, if you like!

Third, How To Embellish Bookmarks

If you are up for a tiny craft project, you can also dress the free printable Valentine’s Day bookmarks up. With a few simple craft supplies like embroidery thread, ribbon, glitter, or other embellishments, they will make beautiful bookmark gifts.

We did a hole punch in the top middle of each of the book marks. Be sure to do it at least 1/2 inch from the top so the hole doesn’t tear easily. Then we attached ribbons to each book mark for the classroom Valentine exchange. Measure your ribbon or embroidery threads to be 6 to 8 inches in length and cut them. Then fold them in half. Push a loop of the ribbon through the bookmark hole and then tuck the ends through them to attach. This makes for pretty presentation, although tying a knot will work too.

Conclusion

You are sure to love these free printable Valentine’s Day bookmarks for their ease and your children and their friends will love the unusual DIY gift as well.  Of course, they can also just be a fun, cheap, non-candy Valentine’s gift for your kids or grandkids as well.

I hope you think this was a great idea and that you enjoy this fun free Valentine. How do you usually celebrate Valentine’s Day?  Do you think you will use these free printable Valentine’s Day bookmarks?
