The kids are about to start school. Fall will soon be in the air, with the trees changing colors and pears & apples will be ready to harvest. With the thought of the kids heading back to school I’ve also been thinking of planning more at home date nights with my husband or at least planning some grown up time to catch up on the day and relax a little after the kids have gone to bed. Once in a while we like to enjoy an adult beverage during our date nights and fall coming inspired this Pear Honey Margarita that I’m going to make for our first date night after the kids start back to school, which also happens to be our anniversary.
Pear Honey Margarita Recipe
- 8 Ounces Organic Pear Juice
- 4 Ounces Gold Tequila
- 2 Ounces Triple Sec
- Drizzle of Raw Honey
- Raw Sugar
Yields 2 Margaritas
Pour the pear juice into ice cube trays and freeze until solid.
Place margarita glasses in freezer to chill.
Once juice is frozen place the juice cubes into your blender. I used my single cup for my Ninja but you could use a full size blender. Add the tequila and the triple sec as well as the honey. They honey should be added to taste. I only add a little as to not make the drink overly sweet. Add a dash of cinnamon. Blend until smooth.
Using frozen juice instead of juice and ice creates a frozen drink rather than a crushed ice/blended drink and it does not become watered down as the juice thaws.
Mix the raw sugar and cinnamon together for sugaring the rim of the glass.
Coat the rim of the glass with a little bit of raw honey. Dip the glass into the sugar and cinnamon mixture and it will stick to the honey.
Pour the frozen drink into the glass and enjoy!
This drink is just as refreshing and delicious without the tequila and triple sec. Add a splash of fresh lemon juice or lemonade instead.
