A car is an amazing piece of machinery that has changed the way we live our lives and is an essential element of modern life. Owning a car does require some basic car care to keep the car performing at its best. Today’s post recognizes that many women don’t really receive much in the way of car care tips and may find themselves clueless when it comes to even basic DIY car projects so it aims to empower them. This post is sponsored by Designing Spaces, which airs weekly on Lifetime Television. DesingingSpaces.tv shares some great tips for performing basic Recommended Car Maintenance and they are doing a special episode of Designing Spaces that’s all about car-care for women. Designing Spaces has partnered with RightTurn.com, a tire deals online service that simplifies tire shopping, to bring you a fantastic Tire Giveaway and I will share that with you here as well.
Basic Recommended Car Maintenance For Women
It is so important to remember basic recommended car maintenance because letting it slide can cause big problems later! Forgetting your oil change for too long could cause the engine to seize up and driving your car without oil could cause your engine to overheat and burn out. Forgetting to rotate your tires or have them rotated for you could cause your tires to expire long before time or even to wear through causing an unsafe blow out. In the long run, completing basic recommended car maintenance saves you time, money, and keeps you safer.
Recommended Car Maintenance:
Change your oil, every 3,000 or 5,000 miles according to your car manufacturer’s instructions.
Rotate your tires ever 5,000 miles.
Check your tire pressure when the seasons change or if the tires begin to look low. It helps you get better gas mileage and is a great way to make the car you drive more eco-friendly.
Check your tire treads. Some tires wear out after only 30,000 miles so don’t assume they are fine.
Make sure all your headlights and taillights are in working order.
Battery Maintenance is especially important as we move into the colder months.
Make sure your windshield wipers are in good shape to ensure your safety in the rain and snow.
Complete car manufacturer’s scheduled maintencance.
It feels good knowing that your car is in tip top shape and ready to go. It is a great sense of accomplishment and it helps keep your family safe.

John says
I’m not a woman, but if I may, I’d like to add two more maintenance tips:
1) Clean the interior of the car with a vacuum cleaner and a moist cloth.
2) Check the reservoir to see if you need to add windshield washer fluid.
