Y’all probably know that I am a pet lover. Just as I believe that feeding my family good quality food has a direct link to our health, I also want to feed my dog good quality food for his longevity. When I was introduced to Redbarn pet products, I did my research and I liked what I saw. Red Barn Dog Food Reviews

There are three basic types of Redbarn dog food: Dry Dog Food, Air Dried Dog Food, and Rolled Dog Food.

These natural, high-quality dog food options are all available in three different flavors based on their ingredients. So, let’s take a closer look at each of the three types of Red Barn dog food.

Redbarn Dry Dog Food

This is your most traditional dog food- dry kibble. However, the ingredients in Redbarn Dry Dog Food really go way beyond your typical grocery store aisle dog food. It contains functional ingredients to help support Skin & Coat Health, Digestive Health, and Heart Health.

Redbarn offers both a whole grain dog food and a grain-free dog food. Both varieties are full of healthy ingredients and focus on animal proteins first. Both dog food formulations feature animal proteins as the first 5 ingredients.

There are three flavors of dry dog food based on ingredients: the Ocean Recipe (fish), the Sky recipe (chicken, turkey, and duck), and the Land Recipe (beef, lamb, pork).

Grain-Free Land Recipe Dog Food Review

I received the Grain-Free Land Recipe Dog Food. Scout was a huge fan. Typically, I feed Scout twice a day and he usually just looks at his dry food and returns to it when he is good and ready to eat it. He can be a bit of a picky eater. With the Red Barn dog food, he goes straight to work and eats it all up right away. The small kibble size is right up my giant lap dog’s alley. And he loves that it doesn’t have any of those grainy little bits clinging to the kibble. You know, like the last bowl of cereal with the all the broken up bits- he is sensitive to that!

In addition to animal protein, this dog food features carefully selected functional ingredients:

• Pumpkin, probiotics, miscanthus grass & prebiotic fiber support healthy digestion
• Omega 6 & 3 fatty acids in sunflower oil & flaxseed help support healthy skin and a beautiful, shiny coat
• Guaranteed methionine, taurine & l-carnitine support heart health and vitamins A & E help support a healthy immune system

It is available in two sizes: 4lb or 22lb. The small bag is nice for going on short trips and it lasts my big dog about 3 days.

Air Dried Chicken Recipe Dog Food

The second type of Red Barn Dog Food is the air dried dog food. This is pretty fancy stuff!

“Our slow cooking process not only creates a tantalizing taste and crunchy texture but allows the animal protein to retain more of its natural nutrition than high-heat cooking processes.”

It is like little chunks of meet that have been dried. It is made with 85% or more fish, beef or chicken. The rest of the ingredients are to make sure they get a balanced diet with additions of salmon oil, flaxseed, miscanthus grass, and vitamins and minerals.

Air Dried Beef Recipe Dog Food Review

We received the Air Dried Beef Recipe Dog Food to review. The pro is that is amazing in nutrition (96% beef) and flavor. The con is that is that a big dog would go through several bags a day which would get expensive very quickly. To be honest, even though Scout LOVES it, he is to large to get spoiled on this as his dog food. I do throw a bit into his dog food for an extra healthy treat though! Lets’ just say, he wishes he were a lap dog more than ever, when he gets these tasty bits of dog food heaven.

These come in a 2 lb bag and three varieties: Chicken, Beef, and Fish.

Redbarn Dog Food Roll

The third type of Redbarn dog food is Rolled Dog Food. This means that instead of being dried meat, or dry kibble pieces, it comes in a sausage like link. It is not raw dog food, it is cooked. It really reminds me of a sausage except that the casing is plastic and you remove it for your dog to be able to eat.

“Food rolls can be sliced or cubed for a full feed, shredded as a dry food topper, cubed and fed as a treat, used as a pill concealer, or training aid…With over 40% fresh beef, lamb or poultry in each roll, it’s more convenient than a raw food diet and can easily be stored without the need for refrigeration until opened. We use a low-temperature cooking process that allows our food to retain vital minerals and nutrients.”

Beef Recipe Rolled Dog Food Review

These come in a 4 oz travel size or a 4 lb size. I mentioned before they look like a sausage, well they smell like one too. And if there is one thing Scout loves, it is sausage. So he made that 4 oz. dog food roll disappear lickity split. For my large dog, this delicious rolled dog food is a perfect treat food because he is big and it would get too costly to feed him only dog food rolls. However, I think this would make a perfect weekly food to add a little extra fun and nutrition to his diet.

First I will discuss the two dog treats that come in the Best Sellers Bundle I was just talking about.

Large Puff Braid

The RedBarn dog treats are all natural dog products. This large puff braid is made out of Beef Esophagus which means it is 65% crude protein. So this boredom buster chew packs a lot of wholesome nutrition too. You can rest assured that unlike rawhide, beef esophagus is a highly digestible chew.

I love that because Scout is a German Shepherd and they tend to get joint pain as they age. He needs the nutritional support and he loves to chew on things. He loved the smell of this chew and wanted it immediately. Often he takes a bit to warm up to new chews or toys but he took this and began chewing right away.

Beef Meat Cuts

They use grass-fed beef and put it through a slow roasting process that makes it crunchy and helps the treats maintain the high nutritional value of the meat.

Redbarn has the best dog treats. I mean they are basically just dried meat hunks and what could make a dog happier? Scout tested and 100% approved. These get Scout’s full attention every time!

Braided Bully Stick

The Redbarn Beaut-A-Bull™ Braided Stick is good for both Boredom Busting and Dental Hygiene. Like the large puff braid, it is also made of beef esophagus. The braided bully stick is put through a little different process so it is a bit of a sturdier chew and has 70% minimum crude protein.

Scout is a fan. The Redbarn bully sticks lasted longer than the puff braid which I liked so I think this is a good choice for big dogs.

Glazed Beef Cheek Roll

This is another all natural dog chew. Beef cheek coated in a chicken and carrot glaze for flavor and nutrition. These  single-ingredient chews are free of chemicals, additives, preservatives, and coloring. Plus, they are naturally rich in collagen, which helps support your dog’s joint health. Scout did a lot of licking and chewing. This was a big hit.

RedBarn Choppers

These super beefy treats are much like the Beef Meat Cuts that I mentioned earlier, only they are big slices of meat! These high protein treats are perfect for big dogs. Really Scout is getting spoiled with these healthy treats. They are a great dog reward after a busy day of activity and ball chasing at the dog park.

Chew-A-Bulls® Horned Toad

Last but certainly not least the Redbarn Dental Chews are a huge hit. They look funny and akward but Scout loves these toads! His eyes get very intense and he has just got to have it. I love that they are good for his dental health. They are gluten-free without any artificial ingredients.
