During the summer months my skin seems to need a little more exfoliation than other times of the year. It can feel dry and parched mostly from being out in the sun and not to mention a little icky from the sunscreen, bug spray and sweat that most everyone carriers around on their skin during the summertime. I have a great quick and easy DIY exfoliating body scrub perfect for a light exfoliation and the scent is perfectly refreshing. Citrus scents in the summertime are my favorite! Here’s a little secret: you can even use this scrub on your face. Just make sure to rub gently if you choose to use on your face. This DIY scrub makes for the perfect DIY gift too! Just wrap it up in a cute package and you have a lovely summer gift for your friends or family!

How To Make Sugar Lime Homemade Exfoliating Body Scrub:

Gather your ingredients and grab a spot on your kitchen counter to work. Pour 1 cup of sugar into your mixing bowl. Next,  add 1/4 cup of your Sweet Almond Oil. Mix together well. Once those two ingredients are mixed well, add 12-15 drops of your Lime Essential Oil. Stir the oil into your scrub mixture. Feel free to add in lime zest or pieces of the lime rind for a little extra touch!

Once your scrub is mixed well, transfer to your small glass jar. This recipe makes about 16oz. I like to keep 4 oz of my DIY Exfoliating Body Scrub and then give 3, 4oz scrubs to friends! This body scrub smells great and is invigorating and refreshing. Lime is the perfect Summer scent for body products.

This easy DIY body scrub recipe is the perfect one for those that have made scrubs before and even for the newbies. Have you ever made your own homemade exfoliating body scrub before?  Try this recipe out the next time you are in need of a body scrub!
