We just got back from a huge road trip and our last stop on the trip was Kansas City. I wanted to go out with a bang and really enjoy our last bit of vacation. While researching for a pet friendly boutique hotel in Kansas City, I came across The Fontaine Hotel and I immediately was drawn to its gorgeous style and excellent location. If you are looking for unique places to stay in Kansas City, you are going to love this chic destination for business and leisure travelers. You will also love that it is located in Country Club Plaza, with the best of Kansas City’s upscale shopping and dining easily within walkable distance. The Fontaine provided me with a one night stay in order to facilitate my Fontaine Hotel review.
Looking For Boutique Hotels in Kansas City? The Fontaine Is Well Located And Sure To Please
The Chic Boutique Vibe
Let’s face it. The whole reason boutique hotels are so much fun is that they all have a unique style! The Fontaine Hotel Kansas City is full of eye candy. You get that luxurious feel mixed with a young, hip twist.
The front desk, lobby area is stunning. It is a bright, welcoming space with super high ceilings, Venetian glass chandeliers, statement art, and crushed velvet accent chairs. There is a seating area with couches if you want to get cozy or a high top bar countertop that looks out onto the street if you want to people watch or read.
There are lots of great spots to enjoy relaxing in sophisticated style or grab a snapshot to share on Instagram!
Other things you may enjoy are the 24-hour fitness center and Solarium Lounge. If you are looking for room service, they have collaborated with JAX Fish House & Oyster Bar, located next door to provide mobile ordering and delivery straight to your room. They also have an on site restaurant called the Parker but it was not open during our stay.
Kansas City Hotel With Rooftop Pool
Is it just me? I can’t resist a hotel with a rooftop pool! The view from the top is always amazing plus you get to swim and lounge, relax, see, and be seen. I love rooftop pools. This fits the bill for Kansas City Hotels with pools on the rooftop.
The Fontaine rooftop pool had gorgeous views of the Country Club Plaza area. It was heated pool and the water felt fantastic! It was so warm I didn’t miss a hot tub to warm up in afterwards. There was lots of great lounging furniture for your comfort around the outdoor pool.
Rooftop Bar
The Fontaine Rooftop Bar is another fun element to enjoy. It is full service so you can have your choice of craft cocktails, mocktails, beers, and appetizers.
The bar itself is indoors with a lounge area but you can also bring your cocktails, mocktails, or beers out onto the patio area. My husband got to sit and relax and sip a beer while my teenagers enjoyed a swim. I loved the panoramic views of Brush Creek and Sunset Hills. Speaking of views, the location of this boutique Kansas City hotel is just perfect!
Hotel Located In Country Club Plaza
Looking for a hotel with easy access to the entertainment districts? The Country Club Plaza area of Kansas City is full of great shops and restaurants, all within walking distance of The Fontaine. We enjoyed being able to walk everywhere we went and getting to explore Kansas City by foot.
We took a walk along the Brush Creek Riverwalk and enjoyed some famous Kansas City BBQ sampler spreads at Jack Stack.
If you are into historic charm, check out their Kansas City Exploration Package which includes entry to the National WWI Museum and Memorial, American Jazz Museum and The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. It is a great way to have fun discovering art, music and history in Kansas City.
Luxurious Rooms
This is almost a given but the guest rooms themselves were great too! The ceiling windows are just what you expect from luxury hotels. Rooms are spacious with comfortable beds, work desk, and luxurious seating. They are equipped with a mini fridge and Keurig coffee maker. You also get free wi-fi and free cable TV, of course.
The bathrooms have enormous beautiful, tiled showers with raindrop shower heads.
The Fontaine Review
Looking for Kansas City boutique hotels? We absolutely enjoyed our stay at The Fontaine. I would say though that it is aimed more for couples and business travelers than for families with young children. I loved the unusual, unique style and the multitude of pretty settings to look at and modern amenities to enjoy. It was perfect as a family stay for us with our teens.
