Have you experienced Christmas at Gaylord Opryland? I recently attended the 36th annual A Country Christmas Lighting Ceremony with special guest Trace Adkins and they welcomed the holiday season with 3.2 million lights! There is no wonder that A Country Christmas is such a long standing holiday tradition because it really is magical. You can just feel the excitement of Christmas in the air. I partnered with Gaylord Opryland to experience some of the Christmas activities this year and there is so much to see and do this holiday season! I will share the full scoop with you here.

What is Gaylord Opryland Country Christmas?

A Country Christmas at Gaylord Opryland is a holiday tradition for those who want to experience Christmas cheer for a weekend staycation, a holiday getaway, or even just a night on the town. Gaylord Opryland Resort provides several really special holiday activities and guests can pick and choose which ones are right for them to create the perfect family experience. I love the sense of childhood wonder that returns to me as I look at their enormous Christmas tree, see bubble snow falling, watch the amazing shows or slide down the ice slides!

Gaylord Opryland’s A Country Christmas Experiences

There is so much to see and do. You will marvel at the millions of holiday lights and acres of magnificent Christmas decorations. You will love the spectacular holiday activities and events. In short, you are sure to get into the spirit of the season and create lasting family memories!

Stay At Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville, TN

The best way to really get the full Country Christmas experience is to stay at Gaylord Opryland Resort. This is because the resort itself is an amazing part of the experience and because it is nice to have a home base where you can relax between all the fabulous holiday fun.

You can check for discounts on Gaylord Hotel Nashville Christmas packages at marriott.com/gaylord-hotels/

My daughter and I could spend days walking through the amazing indoor gardens at the Gaylord Opryland Resort. You feel transported to a tropical jungle as you pass beneath huge elephant ear plants and watch the waterfalls. During Christmas it is even more magical with lights everywhere and with different areas featuring different themes and different kinds of lights. Plus, there are lots of places to take selfies or grab some cute family photos like this one from The Nashville Mom here. You will want to just sit on your indoor balcony and enjoy the view all night!

Another bonus of staying at the Gaylord Opryland Resort is the opportunity to go to Soundwaves upscale water attraction. As you kick back on your journey around the indoor lazy river or go rushing down an indoor water slide, you are likely to be saying, “Yes, this is a very merry Christmas!”

ICE! Featuring A CHRISTMAS STORY™

As part of your Country Christmas at Gaylord Opryland, you will want to get tickets to the Gaylord Opryland Events Center for a look at ICE! featuring A CHRISTMAS STORY. This really is a fantastic thing to see and experience. We are talking about amazingly detailed, life-sized ice sculptures. Everything is hand-carved from two million pounds of ice! My kids loved it and they also loved the bubble snow that fell after the intro video before the show!

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical

It was a treat to see Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical at the Grand Ole Opry. It was so cute! I saw it with my 14 year old daughter and we loved it. Sure, it is aimed at mostly younger kids but it is so wonderful any age will be filled with Christmas spirit.

It was a very fun time and there is a gift shop off the lobby where you start your Christmas shopping. Isn’t this an adorable ornament to commemorate our experience together?

Tubing

You can go ice tubing on a 15-foot-high, four-lane ice tubing hill. Now that is a fun thrill that those of us who don’t get much snow are sure to love. I know my kids and I will be ready for some races!

The Gift of Christmas with Trace Adkins & Friends

I would love to enjoy a performance from Grammy Award-winning Country superstar Trace Adkins for a romantic holiday dinner with my husband. This is a way to score big with your honey! You can see an interview with Trace about the show here.
