A World Globe For Kids is a Great Educational Gift

My daughter just turned six!  Wow, how did that happen so quickly?  My husband and I decided to get her a world globe for her birthday. Why we decided a globe makes a great education gift for kids. Here is why we chose this world globe for kids and what she thought of it.

Why A World Globe Is A Great Gift For Kids

Great Tool For Kids Learning Continents and Countries

I thought a world globe was a great idea because she has lots of toys already and it is so important for kids to begin learning geography. Teaching kids about the world and all the different continents and countries not only gives them a leg up for school, it also helps expand their mind to being more open to new people, places, and things.

The Best Globe For Kids Is One That Is Durable And Not Over Simplified

We choose the Traveler Educational Globe by Replogle. We choose this model because they said it was durable and scratch resistant and that is very important when a 6 year old and 4 year old will be playing with it!  We also liked that this 12″ blue ocean globe had raised relief different colors for each country to help them learn the borders. She will have this globe for life so there is no reason it should be over simplified. She will grow into it and in the meantime she is fascinated by how many countries there are!

A Globe Says Something

I was a little curious to see her reaction to the globe but she really loves it.  In fact, she slept with it the first night! I think she is very proud that we trusted her with this special gift.

She likes it when I quiz her on the continents and we enjoy talking about what animals live where.  It also helps give her a great 3D understanding when I tell her that her grandfather flew all the way from Italy to see her.  They can also see where the ocean is and the real location of areas like Hawaii that are often moved on flat maps.

Conclusion

Globes make great a great kid’s gift.  Globes provide some wonderful bonding opportunities with your child.  Have fun teaching kids about geography and cultures. It will be cool to see them learn about navigation and discuss  food, culture, and animals of different areas!

Do you agree that a globe is a great educational gift for kids?
