Azul Beach Hotel- A Luxurious Family Vacation in Mexico
Traveling out of the country with young children can be hard. There’s only so much room to pack and it’s a challenge to get all the equipment on board the plane. That’s where the Azul Beach Hotel Riviera Maya by Karisma has us covered. I recently attended their Nick Experience press trip and they have everything to satisfy adults and children. The deluxe treatment started upon arrival when I was greeted with a cool, refreshing scented towel and a Slime Smoothie.
To ensure my comfort I was given a choice between five pillow types, a fragrance choice for my room and a fragrance choice for my pillow. I chose lavender for my pillow and the light, relaxing scent soothed me into slumber each night.
I loved the swim up rooms, where we could climb down the steps directly from our rooms into the pool. One section of the pool included a swim up bar, stocked with alcoholic drinks for the adults and nonalcoholic drinks for the kids. If you go, be sure the kids take water shoes, as the path around one of the pools was a bit slippery and hot.
Azul Beach Hotel Makes It Easy To Travel With Babies and Kids
For families with young children, the Azul Beach Hotel family suite has everything a parent could want; cribs, playpens, changing tables, bottle warmers, baby monitors and more are included in the room, plus Gerber baby food is available in all the restaurants. For parents wanting a few moments to themselves, kids aged four to twelve could stay and play at Azulitos Kids Club.
Continuing with the Nick Experience, kids and parents could attend a Character breakfast with special guests Dora and Boots and Sponge Bob and Patrick. Not only is there a delicious themed breakfast, the characters perform a musical revue and take pictures with the kids. This event is an extra charge, but afternoon meet and greets are provided at the Azulitos Kids Club and once a week the kids can attend the smash Orange Carpet Event with all the characters, including the Ninja Turtles.
Not Just For Kids!
But don’t think the Azul Beach Hotel is all for kids. They have plenty of activities for adults, including luxurious spa services. I had a rain forest massage and almost fell off of the table because I was so relaxed! After my massage, I wandered down to the beach and relaxed in a canopied bed while the beach butler brought me a cold drink and a plate of shrimp ceviche. I debated on attempting the water sports included in our gourmet inclusive package, but opted for a nap instead.
Our evenings were spent enjoying the Gourmet Inclusive restaurants on the property, Roma and Latinos. Both restaurants include specially prepared gourmet meals, Italian at Roma and traditional Mexican at Latinos. Adults wanting an evening out can meet at the Agavero Tequila Lounge, which features over 30 types of tequila. We sat down for a Tequila tasting, an optional event offered twice a week, and learned how tequila was made, the different varieties (try the cream tequila!) and sampled tequila, small bites and cocktails.
We also spent an evening at the Azul Sensatori, an all-inclusive destination perfect for everyone from families to adults looking for a romantic getaway in the adults only section. The huge teen club with pool tables, video games, a dance floor and “bar” will keep teens entertained, while the kids section, complete with a small water park and Donatello’s Pizza, ensures no one will be bored. My suggestion? Be sure to try the Watermelon Mojito, a fizzy concoction with a smooth watermelon and mint flavor. It’s delicious!
Everyone at the resort worked to make sure guests were comfortable and relaxed. I was sorry to see my time at the Azul Beach Resort end. I left feeling pampered, relaxed and planning a trip for the entire family!
