Some of my favorite childhood memories are of picking wild blackberries along a two track road near the lake. To this day if I close my eyes when I taste a fresh blackberry it takes me right back to that place and time. Now I take my children blackberry picking. It’s so much fun to watch their excitement when they find a good spot that’s plentiful. The wild blackberries aren’t quite in season yet here but the fresh berries at the farmer’s market or grocery store are great for making Blackberry Cobbler in a Jar. I love dessert and this blackberry cobbler recipe is easy and the perfect portion!
How To Make Blackberry Cobbler in a Jar
Blackberry Cobbler Dessert Ingredients:
- 1 cup fresh blackberries
- 1/2 stick of butter
- 1 cake mix (you’ll use only half)
- 4 mini wide mouth mason jars
Blackberry Cobbler Recipe Easy:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Divide the blackberries between the mason jars, covering the bottom of each jar.
Sprinkle the dry cake mix over the berries. I use approximately 3 tbsp in each jar. The mix does not have to be pretty or evenly sprinkled. Just top the berries and tap the jar to help it settle a bit.
Melt the butter in the microwave and drizzle over the berries and cake mix.
Place the jars on a cookie sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until cake becomes golden brown.
Remove from the oven and allow the cakes to cool until the glass is safe to touch.
Serve this delicious dessert right in the mini mason jar for a perfect portion. It can be served warm, at room temperature, or chilled.
I’m sure it would be amazing served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top!
