When helping siblings adjust to a new baby, new sibling books are an excellent tool because they can help your child imagine the situation and work through their feelings and concerns. I have two children. When our second child was on the way, I knew it was important to prepare my daughter, Sierra, for the addition of a new baby. I wanted to make sure she felt secure and that this would not lead to the start of sibling rivalry. I wanted to her to know what to expect when her new brother arrived and to reassure her that she was loved. Furthermore, I wanted her to join in the excitement. After all, she was going to be a big sister to her new baby brother!
I wrote the new sibling book, Welcome to the Family! A Celebratory Journal for a New Big Sister or Brother, with two purposes in mind. First, for the practical reason of helping prepare young children to become big siblings. Second, for the fun reason of helping them be excited, happy, and proud of being a new big brother or big sister. It is so nice to all share in the joy of the arrival of the new baby together! The Perfect Book For Older Siblings [New Baby On The Way]
This new baby book for siblings has three parts. The first part, Getting Ready Together, helps prepare older siblings for the new baby, reassures them, and focuses them on all they have to look forward to once the baby arrives. Children’s books are the best thing to prepare for the arrival of a new baby. For example they allow a little girl or little boy to imagine becoming a big sister or big brother. This helps prepare them mentally for their new role. It also gives them an opportunity to ask lots of questions about the new arrival and feel reassured that there is enough love for them everyone.
Part 2, You’re A Big Sibling, helps the new big sibling get ideas of how he or she can interact with the baby and get to know the baby better. Young readers will love the simple text prompts and the adorable book illustrations. It is the perfect book to help prepare them for the big change and help them understand the special baby needs and care they can help with.

More than just a book or just a journal, it is an activity book filled with learning and fun all at the same time. The purpose of the book is to prepare your current child(ren) for welcoming a new baby to the family. It is for older siblings in the age range of 2-10 years old.
It has lots of different sections for kids to enjoy working through. These include coloring, drawing, multiple choice questions, journal prompts, talk to adult about prompts, and games. As the older child fills out the new sibling book, it becomes personalized with their thoughts, feelings, and expression.
