This is peppermint kiss cookies post is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of The Hershey Company in 2015. I have republished it because it was such a popular recipe. It is always the first to disappear at cookie exchanges. All opinions are 100% mine. I hope you enjoy this Chocolate Peppermint Candy Cane Kiss Cookies Recipe as much as my family does!

I love to bake. From measuring and mixing to tasting and baking to sharing delicious sweet treats, I find baking relaxing and fun. So when The Hershey Company challenged me to use my creativity to create a mouth-watering treat that just may become a new tradition for my family, I pulled out the ingredients and thought with my taste buds. I had a wide variety of Hershey baking products to chose from– classic ingredients like Hershey’s Chocolate Chips and Hershey’s Cocoa Powder to iconic Hershey’s Kisses – all sure to delight everyone at my table this holiday season. However, I just love peppermint during the holidays- to me, it is the flavor of the holidays so I was immediately drawn to the Hershey’s Kisses Candy Cane Mint candies.

When I tasted one of those delicious white chocolate kisses with a swirl of peppermint and little bits of candy cane crunch, I was hooked and I knew I wanted to use those. Then I decided to use the Hershey’s cocoa powder too because I just love chocolate and peppermint together.  I created a Hershey’s Kisses Candy Cane Peppermint Chocolate Cookies Recipe that I think you will love. My son and I had so much fun making it together that he wants these to be the holiday cookies we give to Santa this year. So you know they are special! We’ll be repeating this new holiday tradition for years to come. These Hershey’s Candy Cane Kisses Cookies were a big hit at the party we took them too and disappeared fast! They are the perfect cookie for this time of the year.

If you enjoy this thumbrint style cookie, they you may also like to try these cherry thumbprint cookies.

How To Make Peppermint Hershey Kiss Cookies:

Pre heat oven to 350 degrees.

Use a large mixing bowl for your wet ingredients. Blend room temperature butter with granulated sugar until they are nice and smooth. Then mix in the egg and peppermint extract.  (This extract takes the cookies to a whole new peppermint level you will just love).

In a medium bowl, add the dry ingredients- flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda. Mix lightly.

Add half of this mixture to the sugar mixture and mix.  Then add the milk to the sugar mixture and mix again. Add the last of the flour mixture and mix again.

Form the batter into dough balls about an inch in width, which will produce about 48 cookies. Place 1-inch balls on cookie sheets lined with parchment paper.  Place baking sheet in the oven to bake cookies for about 8-10 minutes.

While they are baking, remove the foil wrappers from 48 Hershey’s Candy Cane Kisses.  Don’t eat them all but it is OK to taste a few. Tasting is part of the fun!

When you remove the cookies of the oven, allow them to rest for two minutes. (Set a timer. You don’t want them to be too hot and melt your candy Kiss or too cold and hard to press in.) Press one Hershey’s Kisses Candy Cane Mint candy into the center of each cookie.

Move cookies to a cooling rack. Try not to eat this festive treat all at once! If you have any left, store them in an airtight container.

Optional Twist: You can make them without the egg if you like, just add 2 extra tablespoons of milk.
