My children love to read and I love to read to them. Even now that they are old enough to read long chapter books all by themselves, they still love for me to read them picture books at bedtime. As a parent, I love reading children’s books with positive teaching messages. This way the story becomes a great leaping off point for discussions and gives us an opportunity to talk about important life lessons. Today I will share with you four children’s books with positive teaching messages that you and your kids will enjoy reading together.

This post is brought to you by TeenyWings.com but all opinions expressed are my own.

4 Children’s Books With Positive Teaching Messages

Children's Books With Positive Teaching Messages

My kids love reading so I figure what better way to share positive teaching messages with them? However, as my kids brought home books from the school library, I was amazed at just how many books don’t really offer positive learnings. The four books I will share with you today are full of story-telling with a positive moral and even more than that an inspirational message. The best part? The books convey their messages in a way that is not at all didactic. The story telling is so good that your kids will fall in love with the engaging characters and the beautiful illustrations.

I really love the way these children’s books with positive teaching messages share more than just an entertaining story. They offer gentle life lessons to prepare children for some of the challenges they may face as they grow.

All four of these books are recipients of the Mom’s Choice Awards Gold Medal for Excellence, and the Royal Dragonfly Book Awards First Place.

Princesses Party Rosemary Evans

THE LITTLE PRINCESSES’ MAGICAL PARTY

Two little princesses decide to hold a special party with dancing, magic, and
delicious food, for all the girls in their village. The two little princess sisters show compassion, kindness, and the joy of sharing. Each girl at the party realizes that each of them is special and worthy. The illustrations are really beautiful and it is a fun book to read. I love to see story book characters that are full of good qualities and that have those qualities acknowledged and appreciated as they do in this book.

Little Prince Rosemary Evans

THE ADVENTURES OF THE LITTLE PRINCE

This books follows the Little Prince as he sets off on an adventure. As he meets a cast of different characters, the Little Prince demonstrates his qualities and strengths. Your children can learn important life lessons from the THE ADVENTURES OF THE LITTLE PRINCE book as the Little Prince’s values are tested, his compassion and kindness are demonstrated, and his inner strength is proven.

TEENY TINY TINA THE TEENY TINY TOOTH FAIRY review

TEENY TINY TINA THE TEENY TINY TOOTH FAIRY

This beautifully illustrated book introduces the leading character in the Teeny Tiny Tina series (two books already published and 7 more books to come). Tina fears she will never grow big enough to fulfill her ambition of becoming a tooth fairy. However, during the course of the story she learns to be content with her size and that her size can be an asset. The story contains positive teaching messages that dreams can come true, and that everyone has a unique role to play in the world regardless of their size or age. I love the empowering messages of this book and my kids loved seeing all the details of the fairy world.

TEENY TINY TINA AND HER TEENY TINY PET

Teeny Tiny Tina returns in story with another obstacle to overcome. This time the obstacle is her own fear of change. Tina does not want her super cute pet “cat”erpillar, to change. Her mother explains the caterpillar will turn into a beautiful butterfly but still she resists change. The book teaches that good things can come from change. Children learn to not only accept change but to realize that it is only through growing and stretching that they become their true selves. This book is so perfect for my daughter because she not only loves the illustrations but she finds change to be hard too. I am looking forward to rereading this book with her many more times and letting that lesson sink in without it just being me trying to explain it to her!

Conclusion

All of these children’s book with positive teaching messages are presented so young children can understand them and yet they focus on the story so they are fun books to read and reread. Each book has a summation at the end that helps solidify the positive teaching messages- qualities of true prince or princess or fun rhyming poems that encapsulate the learnings. These books are all hardcover, full color, and beautifully illustrated.

Where To Buy

You can purchase any of these books at TeenyWings.com or at other booksellers. You may also want to follow on Facebook to show your support of the author, Rosemary R.Evans, and so will know when the next book in the Teeny Tiny Tina series is released!
