When your little cuties open the plastic Easter eggs, they will find a Rice Krispies treat shaped egg inside and then when they take a bite, they will find a candy or a hidden surprise of your choice! Kids always love to be surprised. So, the idea that amongst the eggs is one holding an even bigger surprise is sure to be a hit. So, how do you make these Easter Egg Rice Krispies Treats? You can find step by step directions below.
Easter Egg Rice Krispie Treats Recipe (With Surprise Center)
You’ll Need:
- 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 1 10 oz bag of marshmallows
- plastic eggs (size of your choosing)
- candy of your choice (such as jelly beans, M&Ms, Cadbury chocolate eggs, etc. for the hidden surprise in the center)
How To Make Rice Krispies Easter Eggs:
-Clean plastic Easter eggs.
-Coat the inside of eggs with cooking spray or butter.
-Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a in a large pot over medium heat.
-Add the package of marshmallows to the pot and melt down completely as you stir.
-Remove from heat.
-Add 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal to the pot and stir the marshmallow mixture well.
-Once the Rice Krispies mixture is completely combined, add mixture loosely into each half of the plastic egg.
-Use your thumb or a spoon to press down and hollow a bowl/hole on each side of the egg.
-Drop in a few candies of your choice.
-Stick the ends together and close the egg.
-Let your Easter rice krispie treats sit for about 20 minutes. After they have cooled you can open your eggs to find a molded Easter egg with a special treat inside!

Rice Krispie Easter Eggs With Surprise
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1 package (10 oz., about 40) Marshmallows
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- Non-stick spray or melted butter
Instructions
- Spray the interior of the eggs until evenly coated with non-stick spray
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
- Add the Rice Krispies cereal. Stir until well coated.
- Using buttered hands, firmly press cereal mixture into plastic Easter eggs. Fill each half of the plastic egg with the mixture, but leave an indentation in the centers.
- Place a few candies in the center and close plastic eggs together.
- Allow to cool completely and enjoy!
