Many of us make a New Year’s Resolution to be healthier in the New Year because after all, our health is so important to our everyday well being. However, many people end up with a long list of reasons they don’t stick to their resolutions. To help you succeed at achieving your resolution this year, I want to offer you five easy ways to be healthy. I have partnered with Crest to inspire you to make small changes for a healthier you.
5 Easy Ways To Be Healthy
Very often people will set huge lofty goals or vague goals and then find it hard to reach them. That is why I suggest taking your current habits and making them healthier. Take something you already do and switch it out for a healthier choice to turn your habits into healthy habits easily. Here are 5 easy ways to be healthy this year.
1. Switch The Soda Out For Water
If you are groaning, don’t worry. There are waters with natural flavors infused that might make the transition easier. Or you can go for sparkling water. Start with just your lunch meal and instead of having a soda, have a water. Such a healthy choice. You will be amazed what a difference this simple switch can make!
2. Lengthen Your Current Exercise
If you aren’t currently exercising, then make simple choices that involve more exercise. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Walk an extra couple blocks after you get to the bus stop with your child. Add a 10 minute workout video into your pre-shower routine. Pick a small manageable exercise routine that seems right for you and tie into an existing habit so that you don’t forget to do it.
3. Better Gum Care
Want healthier gums for fresher breath and oral health? Try new Crest® Gum DetoxifyTM Toothpaste. It is formulated with Activated Foam Technology that reaches below the gum line, where even the most diligent brushers may not be able to reach. It significantly improves gum health with clinically proven healthier gums! Now that has to be one of my favorite easy ways to be healthier because it is so simple to do.
4. Eat More Produce
Vegetables and fruits are so healthy for you, both as a source of fiber and as a source of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and phytonutrients. You are aiming for at least 5 servings a day so make sure that when you sit down to a meal, you have at least one serving on the plate. If that is a challenge, you can make it easier by having frozen veggies like corn or peas always at the ready. You can also opt for veggies that don’t even require cooking like carrot sticks, cherry tomatoes, or celery sticks. Throw some banana slices or berries onto your cereal, oatmeal, or pancakes. You can do this!
5. Lose The Sweet Tooth
Trying to cut out sweets completely is almost impossible but you can eat less sweets. If you are in the habit of having an indulgent dessert or sugary snack much more frequently than you should, sub it out for something healthier. Try a small satisfying mint, oatmeal cookies, or fruit and yogurt instead.
These five small changes to your habits are all easy ways to be healthy and reach your goals this year. Which of these easy ways to be healthy will you chose to focus on this year?
