How To Make All Natural Eucalyptus Chest Rub DIY:

First grab all your supplies and head to the kitchen. Grab your coconut oil and measure out 1/2 a cup. Place that in the bowl. Now, the next part is a little tedious but it must be done…take your fork and whip your coconut oil. You want the final consistency to be fluffy. You can more than certainly grab your electric mixer and whip the coconut oil that way but I find that it doesn’t take that long to do it with a fork. *If you do choose to use your mixer, keep it on a low speed so it doesn’t splash all over.

Once your coconut oil is whipped nicely and has that light fluffy consistency, it’s time to add your essential oils. Drop 15 drops of eucalyptus essential oil and 3 drops of pine and peppermint essential oil right on top of the coconut oil. Fold in the essential oils and place in your jar. The consistency of the coconut oil mixture should stay fluffy if you keep it in a cool place. *If it does get warm and turn into a liquid, no worries! It works the same.

Your Eucalyptus DIY chest rub is ready to use!

Chest Rub Uses And Benefits

This soothing chest rub is intended for external use only on adults and children ages 2+.

When you or your child (over 3 years of age) has a cough and or chest congestion, grab your chest rub and simply rub a small amount over the chest area. I also like to put a thick layer on the bottom of feet and then put on socks. This can be done a couple times a day. Before first use, do a patch test on a small area of skin to ensure you don’t have any allergic reactions to the oils.

Chest rub benefits include helping to temporarily relieve congestion with the soothing aroma of eucalyptus oil. This natural vapor rub can also serve as a cough suppressant temporarily relieving coughing symptoms associated with the common cold. I like to apply it to the feet where all the nerve endings are as well because these essential oils help to reduce pain and inflammation. I find it soothes minor muscle aches and has a calming, relaxing effect on the body.

Another way to use this all natural chest rub to put a spoonful in a pot of hot water. This allows the vapors to escape into the air and help clear nasal congestion without even having to touch the body. People with sensitive skin may find this is one of the best cold remedies for them.

Store this topical ointment for temporary congestion relief out of reach of children.
