I love the outdoors but the winter time chill can send me indoors pretty quickly! That is why I was happy to be able to review a winter coat from Free Country, an activewear brand. Free Country offers outerwear for Men, Women, and children. I chose a Free Country jacket with features that help it serve me well as a both a winter jacket and a winter coat.
The Free Country Outdoor Apparel Brand
The Free Country Brand started 30 years ago and is an outdoor apparel brand that is on a mission to equip people with outdoor gear at an affordable price. They say, “Our products are designed to be long lasting, functional and styled well. Our materials are thoughtfully sourced, and guarantee the highest quality products at the best value for our customers.”
Free Country makes shopping easy by having subcategories like fleece, 3 in 1 jackets, and down. I knew I wanted to review a winter coat that would be heavy enough to make my winter walks enjoyable so I chose the heavyweight jackets category to search through. Then I chose the stylish Women’s Arches Power Down Jacket.
Free Country Women’s Arches Power Down Jacket Review
The Free Country Women’s Arches Power Down Jacket was the perfect choice for me because it was heavy duty but still attractive. I really like the lines on this jacket. The way they sewed the down in is very flattering. This winter coat comes in 5 different colors. I chose “purple moon” for my Women’s Arches Power Down Jacket- such a fun name and a really pretty color that goes great with the grey faux fur edging on the hood.
Women’s Arches Power Down Jacket Features:
- detachable hood
- double zip, front closure
- interior cell phone and utility pockets
- super soft fleece back lining, interior collar, and sleeve
- wind resistant
- water resistant
- natural down feathers for warmth with lightweight feel
- zip exterior pockets
- slits for thumbs in fleece sleeve (I like this because I can put a soft fleece covered palm over my steering wheel)
I love the fitted look of the Women’s Arches Power Down Jacket that comes in at the waist just a bit. There is soft fleece in all the spots where it touches my skin which I find it to be comfortable and warm. Another nice feature is that it is machine washable.
Is Free Country a good brand?
Free Country products are generally considered to be of good quality, particularly for their price point. They use durable materials and provide adequate performance for casual outdoor activities. Compared to high-end outdoor brands like Patagonia or The North Face, Free Country may not offer the same level of premium performance or specialized features, but it doesn’t cost nearly as much either. They offer good value for money.
Conclusion
I am totally pleased with this jacket and I would certainly try Free Country for quality made winter coats again in the future. I also think that the prices are very reasonable and I plan on checking out Free Country when my kids need new winter coats.
