King Salmon Fishing on the Copper River in Alaska is a highly anticipated short season. This flavorful wild fish combined with fresh lemon and ginger is easy to prepare and rich in nutrients, antioxidants and vitamins. This grilled lemon ginger salmon recipe, shared by Sleeper’s Gourmet, is both good for you and delicious. Sleeper’s Gourmet brings you an inspired and unparalleled line of all natural spice blends, salts and specialty foods all hand crafted in small batches from original recipes with no GMOs ever. This grilled king salmon has a bright, tangy, and slightly spicy flavor profile. The lemon adds a fresh citrusy note that complements the rich, buttery taste of the king salmon, while the ginger brings a warm, zesty spice that enhances the overall flavor. The result is a delicious, aromatic, and well-rounded taste experience.

With so much focus on the amazing omega-3 benefits of salmon, other unique health benefits from salmon may have been inadvertently overlooked. One fascinating new area of health benefits involves the protein and amino acid content of salmon. Several recent studies have found that salmon contains small bioactive protein molecules (called bioactive peptides) that may provide special support for joint cartilage, insulin effectiveness, and control of inflammation in the digestive tract. -whfoods.com

Lemon Ginger Grilled King Salmon Recipe

Ginger lemon salmon is a savory dish with a hint of sweetness and a pleasant kick of spice.

Makes 4-6 servings

Lemon Ginger Salmon Recipe Ingredients:

  • 1 Tablespoon MAGIC RUB™ Fowl Seasoning (Magic Rub™ Fowl™ is crafted of sun dried California lemons and fragrant savory herbs blended with garlic, onion, and kosher salt.)
  • 1 Tablespoon Fresh Ginger, grated
  • ½ C Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1 Tablespoon Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons Rice Wine Vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon Melted Coconut Oil (or olive oil or sesame oil)
  • 2 lbs. Fresh Wild King Salmon Filets

How To Make Ginger Salmon:

First make the lemon ginger salmon marinade. Combine first 6 ingredients in glass container, shallow baking dish, or small bowl large enough to hold salmon.

Add fresh salmon and thoroughly coat both sides of filet or salmon steaks. Make sure the fish is in a single layer while it marinates.

Marinate for 30 minutes.

Grill the salmon — approximately for 4-5 minutes per side or personal preference. I would place salmon fillets directly onto the grill for the nice grill marks. However you could use aluminum foil on your grill, if it has not been cleaned and you can’t find your grill brush!

Serve the Grilled Ginger Fowl King Salmon with your favorite salad, a delicious quinoa or rice pilaf.  Enjoy his main dish with amazing flavor!

Recipe Notes:

King salmon, AKA chinook salmon, is a large wild North Pacific salmon. This recipe calls for King Salmon but really you can use any kind of salmon. King Salmon is one of the best kinds of salmon according to experts because it “is the largest and most rich flavored of all the species of wild salmon”.

This recipe also calls for MAGIC RUB™ Fowl Seasoning which is superior but you could substitute lemon pepper, garlic powder, and dried rosemary or Old Bays if you like.

You may want to cut some extra lemon slices to grill for garnish.

Also, if you like a sweet element, you can add 2 tablespoons of honey to the marinade and you will get a honey ginger glazed salmon on the grill or bake in the oven on 450 degrees for about 12 minutes or until cooked through (when salmon reaches 135-140 degrees).
