It is always fun to have guests over for the holidays. I love a good holiday party but there is a lot of planning that goes on behind the scenes! A lot to think of, remember, and prepare before guests arrive. Here are a few holiday party planning tips to help you stay on track, be prepared, and have fun.
1. Make a list of people you want to invite.
Go over the list with your partner to make sure you didn’t accidentally forget someone! Then send out invites. You can use these free printable invitations or a service like evite.
2. Make a to do list.
Make a list of all things that need to get done for the party. Here are a few ideas to get you going:
- Clean the dining room, living room, and bathrooms
- Clean other common areas where guests will have access
- Decorate
- Create a music playlist
- Create a menu plan (including drink options). Here are some party recipes to consider.
- Shop
- Cook
- Ensure you have enough plates, glasses, cutlery, ice
- Ensure trash cans and recycling bins are available and empty
- Stock the bathrooms
- Have a plan for where to put coats and prepare the area
3. Assign duties.
