Learning Resources® is a leading manufacturer of innovative, hands-on educational materials for classrooms and learning toys for the home.  They strive to create educational products that build a concrete foundation of skills through exploration, imagination and fun.  They were kind of enough to provide me with some educational toys for my kids to keep learning with over the summer- bug collecting jars and an early science explorer’s set. Big View Bug Jar Set and Early Science Explorer’s Set were provided in order to facilitate review.

Big View Bug Jar- Set of Bug Collecting Jars

As a biology major myself, these science toys are right up my alley!  The Learning Resources Big View Bug Jars, Set of 6 are great for my little outdoor explorers.  The Bug Collecting Jars are a great size and they have little air holes in the plastic jar.  The lids look like ladybugs and screw off and on.  When my kids push the button in the center, the ladybug wings separate to reveal an awesome 3.5X magnifying glass!  They love these bug collecting jars.  Not only do they encourage science exploration but they also just love playing with the ladybugs.   My kids take them off and fly them around and make them talk to each other!  It has also been fun watching them hunt and capture bugs in the backyard!

Early Science Explorer’s Set Review

We also received the Early Science Explorer’s Set which includes durable magnifier with built-in stand for hands-free observation, 4.5x magnification, and 4 1/2″ diameter viewing area as well as  large easy-grip tweezers.  These are made of very durable plastic and great for little kids! They are a great compliment to the bug collecting jars because they can study their bugs up close.

Early Science Explorer's Set

Do your kids like collecting bugs? Have they studied the basic definition of a bug and learned to tell them apart?

Learning Resources did provide me with these science toys in the hopes that I would share my honest opinions.  I received no monetary compensation and the opinions expressed are my own.
