It’s not too late for you children to make a few Halloween crafts if they haven’t done so yet! We love making all kinds of holiday decorations at our house and this Paper Plate Bat Craft is so easy and quick to make! Your children will love helping glue and cut with safety scissors for this Halloween craft.

Directions For How To Make A Paper Plate Bat:

Gather your supplies and head to the table. First start with your black construction paper. Draw a set of wings for your bat (or if drawing is not your thing you can use this free printable bat template and just cut the wings off and trace onto the black construction paper). Next, draw 2 ears and two small circles for the bat’s pupils. Grab your scissors and carefully cut those out.

*If your child is good with his/her scissors, let them cut the objects out. If they are just learning how to cut, on a separate piece paper, draw a few shapes and let them practice cutting while you cut out the bat pieces.

Next, grab your white paper and cut out some teeth and the larger part of the eyes for your bat.

Once everything is cut out, grab your glue stick and start glueing your bat pieces onto the bat body (your black paper plate). Children love helping glue and glue sticks aren’t too messy so definitely let them join in at this point!

Once you have glued all your bat pieces onto the paper plate, you have a finished Paper Plate Bat! My kids chose to hang theirs on their bedroom doors but your child’s bat would even look good displayed in a larger area of your house like the kitchen or living room for everyone to enjoy!

Have you ever tried to make a Halloween craft using colored paper plates? This one is so easy and very kid friendly. Try this craft out if you have time this week and add a little Halloween decor to your house!
