I am happy to tell you that SoftStar Shoes provided a pair of zero drop shoes in order to facilitate my review. They make minimal shoes for the whole family to baby to kids, to men’s and women’s. I chose Soft Star Shoes Mary Jane style for my daughter.

There are two reason I was excited to share SoftStar Shoes with you.  The first reason is obvious- cute shoes!  The second reason I am excited to feature Soft Star Shoes is that their shoes are amazing in many unique ways.

For starters, Soft Star Shoes are all made by hand in their Oregon workshop.  (That is right, shoes handmade right here in the USA!)  Another unique thing about Soft Star Shoes is that they use only natural, formaldehyde-free leather colored with non-toxic food grade dye.

Softstar Shoes

But here is the real kicker, Soft Star shoes are designed to be spacious and flexible to allow natural movement and foot function, for foot comfort and health.  In 2010 Soft Star Shoes expanded its line of leather moccasins to accommodate the needs of minimal or barefoot runners.  At Soft Star Shoes they make minimal footwear look stylish and feel great!

What are zero drop shoes?

Zero drop shoes are minimal shoes that like gloves for your feet, allowing for natural movement and healthy foot development. The term zero drop means that the heel is at the same level as the ball of the foot. Just like having bare feet. They are especially important for babies learning to walk and for runners but nice for everyone.

Soft Star Shoes Mary Jane Review:

First I had to pick one kids shoe for the review and that is hard work when you have two kids and tons of cute shoes to choose from.  I almost got the Youth Vegan Rambler – Cocoa / Red for my son but I couldn’t resist the Youth Merry Jane Casual – Shiny Violet / Dark Purple for my daughter.

She loves purple and the Mary Jane style is great for her to wear to school with her school uniform.  The Soft Star sole is thin and very flexible.  The buckle is actually just for looks as it is a Velcro closure.  She absolutely loves them.  The Soft Star Merry Janes are fancy enough for dresses and comfortable enough that she wears them to run and bike with her daddy.  I am totally pleased with the quality of the shoes.

Soft Star Shoes review

You can view the whole selection of Soft Star Shoes for adults, kids, babies, and minimal footwear at the Soft Star Shoes website.

I did receive Soft Star shoes in the hopes that I would share my honest opinions.  I did not receive monetary compensation and the opinions expressed are my own.

My daughter has had multiple pairs of moccasins, but she’s been wanting a pair of child classics. They truly are the most comfortable shoes.

I love the build your own ramblers for toddlers. They are just enough for tender foot protection without the hard structure of most shoes available for early walkers :).

I love all of them! The ramblers, classic, sandals, and moccasins for kids, the merry janes, rogue, and runamoc for me. I love the looks, the feel, and that they are made in the USA by hand. Simply amazing shoes!
