When you have a small house or apartment, it is especially nice not be over run by toys!  Even a large home can sometimes feel overwhelmed by toys everywhere.  There are a few approaches you can take to avoid the toy invasion.  You can limit the toys.  I try to do this by once a month weeding out the toys that aren’t getting played with anymore and donating them.  I also limit the toys in our house by buying quality toys over quantity.  Another approach that I find helpful is choosing toys that are pleasant to look at.  That is one reason I love wooden toys so much- besides being a more natural, eco-friendly toy option, they are also less intrusive in a space than colorful, loud, plastic toys. Here are 5 space saving toys you and your children are sure to love.

This post is sponsored by Oh! Toys which specializes in cool toys. All of the toys I mention here are available at Oh! Toys and all opinions expressed are my own.

5 Cool Space Saving Toys:

Totem designer building blocks

Fascinating, this space saving toy is from Italian designer, Vittorio Lonzi.  One simple shape, repeated 24 times in finely crafted European Maple, allows an astonishing variety of designs. All kids love blocks and building is such great developmental play that these are sure to be a winner with both child and a design-conscious grown-up!

Truzzles- Gorgeous 3D Puzzles

Truzzle is a 3D wooden puzzle, with soft harmonious curves, and beautiful wood grain. It is challenging and rewarding.  This beautiful toy serves as both a game and a decorative object.  This space saving toy can proudly sit on your coffee table and adult visitors will enjoy it as much as your children!

The Mader wooden spinning tops are made in Austria and they come in a wide variety of shapes. Get a few different types so you child can learn how the shape affects the spin!  They are all easy to store and these space saving toys are simple, amusing, and inspiring as they demonstrate principles of physics.

Nanodants Wooden Animal Puzzle

Nanodants are pretty amazingly cool. I just love how they are basically a space saving toy that serves as both a 3D animal puzzle and as an animal figurine that the kids can play imaginative games with once they assemble him. They come in several animal choices.

Cuboro Basis Wooden Marble Run

My whole family loves this ingenious building block and marble run toy from Switzerland. Cuboro allows endless combinations and designs and is a Spiel Gut, Popular Toy Award winner. Cuboro is truly a “heritage toy” that can be passed from one generation to the next.

Conclusion

Are you looking for toys that don’t take up space? I get it. Too many toys can get cluttered quickly. I believe that quality is better than quantity. These are all great toys for small spaces. Another bonus to all of these Space Saving Toys is that they look appealing and are fun to play with for children and adults! Which space saving toy is your favorite?

Our play room is such a hot mess right now that any thing to help me save space would be a life saver. I need to get organized.
