Spring Lunch Ideas for Kids

Simple Tutorial For A Fun, Creative Spring Lunch For Kids:

Begin by making the flower shaped sandwich.  I chose lunch meat and cheese but the sandwich can be made using your child’s favorite things.  Once the sandwich is put together, use a circle cookie cutter to cut into a circle shape. Use a sharp knife to cut small wedges out of the circle creating flower petals.  Lastly cut a small piece of bread from the center of the sandwich and insert a half grape tomato to create the flower’s center.

Next remove the skin from the cucumber trying to keep the pieces large.  Use the sharp knife to cut the skin into strips that resemble stems, blades of grass, and leaves.

Cut the cucumber itself into flat pieces and shape them to look like leaves.

Peal and section the mandarin.  Cut the stem off of the strawberry.

Assemble the lunch by placing the flower sandwich and the strawberry towards the top corners of your plate.  Fan the mandarin slices around the strawberry to create a second flower.

Arrange the strips of cucumber skin strips and cucumber pieces to create leaves and stems for the flowers.  Use additional pieces of cucumber skin to create the grass along the bottom.

This Kid Friendly Fruit Recipe was easy to make, needed only a few ingredients and came out so cute. I think I will use it for my son’s birthday party that is coming up.
