The Nashville Sounds lost to the New Orleans Zephyrs, 4-3, in front of 6,373 fans on Friday night at historic Greer Stadium in the second game of a three-game series- and we saw the whole thing! What a fun time! I totally suggest a ball game as a great, fun family outing. Whether it a baseball game or a hockey game, sports family fun is a tradition you may want to add to your list of family fun ideas!
Baseball is often referred to as America’s pastime because of its long-standing popularity and cultural significance in the United States. The sport has deep roots in American history, dating back to the 19th century, and has become intertwined with the nation’s identity. Baseball’s slow pace, strategic elements, and nostalgic appeal have contributed to its status as a beloved tradition for many Americans.
Enjoy A Baseball Game With The Whole Family
It didn’t matter that the Sounds lost, and not just because I am from New Orleans too, but because the whole experience was so fun! They do a great job at keeping the kids and mildly interested sports fans (like myself) entertained! They had some fun throwing out coupons to the crowd, singing songs, and involving people from the crowds in various games for prizes during the breaks. The players threw out balls on occasion and of course, the concession men entertained with their various calls! We all loved it. My husband even caught a baseball! Spending time with family at the ball game was so fun!
Then when the game was over, the fun continued! We stayed for the fabulous firework show and then my kids got to run the bases! Sierra wanted to do it again! I wish I had remembered to whip out the camera for that but I was so caught up watching that I didn’t think of it until too late!
It is a great time for kids to learn the lyrics to Take Me Out To The Ball Game!
So…
Take me out to the ball game,
Take me out with the crowd;
Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack,
I don’t care if I never get back.
Let me root, root, root for the home team,
If they don’t win, it’s a shame.
For it’s one, two, three strikes, you’re out,
At the old ball game.
